Yeah they just won the toughest top aussie offroad race in the production class in a stock Ranger Raptor. They had no steering rack issues at all. I hate to modify something design by people who know the truck inside and out, until its proven something is really a problem.
besides the tie rods being weak, the racks were designed for cars, NOT trucks. here are pictures of the "bushings" inside fords rack that get destroyed after only a few thousand miles....Fords engineering department is a joke when it comes to steering.

I'm considering the 74 Weld HOSS 2.0 billet rack instead of the HOSS 3.0. It's a few grand cheaper and I will be running 33's or 35's for awhile.

I don't recommend beefing up the tie rods on the 2.0 rack, you transfer the fusible link to the rack itself. Carry spare tie rods instead.

Honestly as a Jeep guy that can't bring myself to put Rough Country parts on my rust bucket, I wouldn't even look at them on the Ranger.

Good parts for mall crawling but never holds up off road.
I agree. Too many RC steering failures back in the old days, threads all over Naxja of TREs shearing .

Where is everyone buying stock replacements for trail spares for cheap ?

Another piece of info I am trying to figure out - are the raptor tie rods different than a bronco tie rod?

The link here for the RC ones go to a bronco tie rod.

Just trying to figure it all out.

I already mentioned that these had an inch and a half more thread than the stock Bronco ones do which is exactly what the ranger raptor is wider than the stock Bronco 1.5 in on each side. I've been running these on my Bronco for a year now with 41 in tires and have had zero issues.

Truth and I wasn't even on NAXJA back in the day despite living on it for the last few years of building an XJ.
Im still on NAXJA. I still have an XJ on 40s/tons. But I love this raptor now !

OK thanks, I missed that, I don't see in the thread where you say they are 1.5" longer. For 200$, I might order these for trail spares. Since stock replacements are like 300$ each. so 600$ over 200$.

Any issues with the rack ? Any really wheeling on it with 41s?

Looking at the dimensions only, it would look like the Apex tie rods on the 74Weld website would fit too…
