After looking the spare tire on my 25 Lariat I've decided I want the same size rim and tire as my stock rims and tires.

I will be going places where I might have issues finding a replacement tire or road side service. (think south of the border)

so driving on a speed limited (for whatever reason it is speed limited) spare is not an appealing option

And I ran into this on my last truck where the spare tire got so old I had to replace it, and apparently if it gets too old road side assistance may decline to install it, so I want to run 5 tire rotation.

so the easiest thing would be to get a matching OEM rim and tire, right?

So I start tracking that down and end up with a lot of possible part numbers

N1WZ1007X, N1WZ1007Y, N1WC1007F2A, N1WC1007F4A, and N1WC1007G4A

and ALYFQ086

and $670 for a single rim? marked down from $1000?

https://parts.lakelandford.com/p/Ford__/Wheel/134644606/N1WZ1007X.html

I also see a spare

https://parts.lakelandford.com/a/Ford__/134644606__12410917/Wheels/MD24475.html

for $400? But I think that is the steel rim?

https://parts.lakelandford.com/p/Ford__/Wheel/134672757/N1WZ1015A.html

I also see that I could get a slightly wider ford bronco rim set of 5 for $900

https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/m-1007k-bb5.html

I've thought about it and think sticking with the 18" wheel and factory tire size 255/65 R18 is fine for me and there are plenty of Traill tires in that size when I go to replace the stock good years

so can someone help me with the part number and a reputable source for either refurbished or new gem wheel?

or is there something else I should consider? sorry of the long post

On Ebay for under $300 and free shipping – https://www.ebay.com/itm/205617072014
I just googled the first 'indent' (N1WC1007F4A) listed on HubcapHaven. "ALYFQ086" appears to be their own Part Number, for what it's worth; the other places using it seem to be 'repurposing' HH's cataloguing conventions.

But to answer your implicit question, yes, $700 is a pretty standard price for brand-new wheels from a manufacturer. Aftermarket or used/refurbished/"remanufactured" will always be cheaper.
And you're pretty likely to find cheap takeoffs on Facebook Marketplace, though I guess 6G Rangers and Lariats specifically are still somewhat rare.

@ATXian sure I can find sellers on eBay and then I google reviews about them and come away unimpressed

same with the one you listed

I am just wondering if someone has a reputable source

sure you can maybe find takeoffs qty 4, I need 1

at least if I got bronco takeoffs I could get 5

i guess this is my welcome to wheels. 😀

You don’t need a brand new wheel, a remanufactured one will be just as nice and way cheaper. Google “remanufactured oem wheels” and you will get several sources, just search for your wheel by its part number.

Most dealer “takeoff” wheels get sent to these companies, where they get resold, it is rare that a car dealer will keep the takeoffs around very long, they take up too much room.

Look for used on fb marketplace or Craigslist, eBay, etc

lots of us have removed our stock wheels and tires in favor of aftermarket upgrades or replacements.

sure and I bet you removed 4 and sold them as 4

but I could ask if they will sell one

eBay is the best bet for one but I was getting some very mixed reviews when I googled reviews first the sutes

I was hoping someone might have a goto seller and some direct positive experience

Thanks for all the replies.

I’ll also bet that I sold 4 sets of rims and tires for less than I paid for one aftermarket rim and new tire.

With respect, it's 20Ìž25, not 1999—if the wheel is in some regard not up to your standards, you can just return it or do a chargeback on your credit card.
That seller has over 36 thousand reviews on Ebay, and it appears the overwhelming majority of them are positive.

Almost nobody is going to have a go-to online retailer for takeoffs; it's a naturally inefficient market—all the "best" deals are going to be local sellers. I can't give you a website for the guy in my hometown who'd come pick up used OEM wheels for $25 a piece from tire shops in his Grand Caravan because he simply doesn't have one.

well I’m going to explore that hypothesis because I think you are right.

i did find some takeoff for $400 but outside my driving range.

there is one listing fairly local that I contacted but he is still too high but he just listed and maybe he will change

i imagine you are right and at some point people just want to get it out of the garage.

i know i would

thanks for the encouragement and essing my concern on the eBay refurbishments, I’ll see how it goes.

👍

Five wheel rotations don’t end up being very satisfactory in the long term, because any wheel stored under the truck bed is going to get nasty, it is unavoidable. So you end up with five wheels with unnecessary cosmetic damage - that isn’t acceptable to me.

Buy a cheap matching diameter tire and mount it on your factory steelie. Remove the stupid 55 mph sticker. Drop it down annually at least, to clean the crap off it and lube the winch, and use a valve extension hose to check the tire pressure every few months. Replace the tire when you feel it is too old, say every six years.

If you really want to rotate all five tires, carry the spare inside the bed or on a hitch carrier, or on a rear bumper - I did that on a Land Cruiser, it looked cool, and I could keep that wheel clean and waxed
..

FYI, my summer wheels are Bronco takeoffs, I got FIVE like new wheels (less than 100 miles) plus Ford TPMS sensors, plus four pony center caps, for $650 on Craigslist. I retained the steel spare, the extra Bronco wheel sits in my garage in case I trash one.

well I've done 5 wheel rotations in the past and it was ok. yes, you clean up the spare but then again it needs it

I didn't on my last truck because it has a different rim for the spare and eventually I came to regret that decision

if I clean it annually it won't be that big of a deal to clean it up for the rotation

my off roading will be infrequent and I appreciate the thought about carrying the spare above but I am going to leave it underneath,

I need the bed space and the truck is about as long as I like right now to get in the garage

I already have a cheap matching diameter width wheel on my spare Steelie. I don't see anything wrong with the crosswind AT 255/70 r17 tire. albeit 17" rim versus my 18" oem rims.

That seems to be what ford has done with the non raptor trims, have a rim a different size for the spare.

I suppose I could get the spare balanced...

I'd rather be running 5 tires all the same considering my intended journeys

thanks again, I appreciate the different points of view
