Horrible noise on cold start up of Ranger Raptor?

I traded in my 2017 Raptor because it started at 40k miles. Same sound and it was the cam phasers. Now I'm in my 24 RR and see people having the same issues. Love my truck and Ford, but by God Ford needs better quality control!

Unfortunately, same issue here. My RR 2024 has been in the dealer since 1st of October 2024, still haven't received it. This is the 2nd time i had to take my truck to the dealer and i am very disappointed with Ford, last time had high noises in the interior and it took them more than one month to solve... and now this!!!

Sorry to hear. It’s quite amazing that Ford does not care enough about their customers to change this.

Do they not sell enough units to justify a manufacture adjustment by now?

Are you getting them replace? If so do you know if there is a upgraded part for the 3L EcoBoos?

I did have them replaced but now I am getting whole new engine. I have no idea what was put in for replacement but as I said guess does not matter now.

It seems to be a hit or miss for years though out fords product line. My wife’s 2018 expedition developed it shortly after purchase, ford corrected it without issue, 50k miles afterwards ran like a sewing machine, zero issues. We trade fairly often, just got her a MY24 expedition, I had no hesitation based on previous experience

60K Rangers a year based upon an average of 15k rangers a quarter, would be about 2,400 a year. If that number is accurate which is probably not.
