In my previous two Tundra's I would engage 4H on a 5 mile straightaway at around 50mph monthly. Plan on doing the same with the Ranger. At a minimum I will know the system is operating ang getting proper circulation of the various lubricating fluids.

I am not someone who goes off road too often but I do go camping 2 times a year essentially. With that, how often should I be enabling 4x4 and aside from that the rear locker in order to make sure they are maintained? I saw a post saying you need to do it or they will go bad? Any insight on this is appreciated.
My driveway requires at minimum 4H. Once every 2 weeks I put in into 4L. Only had the Ranger XLT for a month now and have not engaged the locking diff. Will do next time on on the driveway that's gravel. Thanks for the reminder.

Don’t count on the dependability…. There are lots of reports of weird drivetrain failures and CELs because of all the interactive software in these trucks, and even rear axle shaft breakage. My RR is a hoot to drive off pavement, and I love it so far, and it’s a way better road tripper than any of my old school trucks, but I have no illusions about its “reliability”.

It's why he bought a Raptor instead of a Taco, Colorado, Gladiator or Frontier. His expectations for them were even lower than for the Ford....
