How to clean running boards?

I got some mud on my Raptor running boards that I cant figure out how to clean. I hosed it down and scrubbed it with a boars hair brush but theres still a little staining left. I cant really use any sponges or something porous as the sand paper like nature eats everything up that I scrub it with.

What do you all recommend?

I would steer away from sand paper and instead scrub with a brush with stiff plastic bristles

I use a tire brush on my 2014 Raptor, I’d assume the Ranger has a similar texture on the running boards.

I would recommend diy Detail all purpose cleaner and a tire brush. Let the cleaner dwell, scrub and then rinse off. Should look as good as new.
