This is with the seat back in the NORMAL position, not lowered. I haven’t tested that method yet.

I ordered two long adjustable ones, the RR model does also fit my wife’s 2022 Acura RDX.
Shown is a 24 gallon (medium) Action-Packer, about $40 online. Without the extender, the only way to strap it is by threading the belt under the lid, trapping it by the latch. Not so secure, and it is really REALLY awkward to get to the buckle.
The extender allows for proper strap routing and VERY easy access to the new buckle. in fact it is now secured in three directions instead of two.
Clip the two sections together and wrap it up neatly and it will store in a small spot until you need it.
This is the version I got, make sure you specify the correct details!
Also, be sure to put something over the seat and door trim to protect them; my RR has a canvas dog “hammock”. This is fine for short term transport, but I would not recommend it as a long term solution, it might eventually damage the seat foam. And two of these Action-Packers will fit with room to spare in between them.
