I paid $2,500 over MSRP for a 2025 Ranger Raptor I ordered, did I pay too much?

Koons also rapes you with a $900 doc fee.
However the law enforcement and Farm credit offset it

I guess that is one way to look at it.

I paid sticker for mine, however where I'm at the markups are stupid high, initially they were $10-$15k. Having said that, I absolutely love this thing and if I could have haggled them down to $2500 and not traveled so far I would have 100% paid it. I know that's not a popular opinion always but I wanted it, was a 40th bday present for myself and said fuck it.

Somewhere, there’s a dealer out there posting on a Ford Dealer’s Forum questioning if the Ranger Raptor he let go for MSRP was a huge mistake or not? And other dealers are replying to his post telling him that he’s a fool and supporting the drop in sales prices and hurting the Raptor market for other dealers.

I fully admit and am not ashamed that I paid $5k over for mine. However, when I was looking to order one last January, every dealer in a decent radius only had 1 slot available and they were all taken(mostly by owners of the dealership or friends of the owners). So when one of them reached back out and told me I could order it the way I want but for over MSRP I didnt care. They gave me the buy rate on the loan so it offset the $5k anyway. If it was something that was readily available, then I would not have done it. But to get the only one available, and still only have seen one other in my area since May, I happy enough.

The funny thing is I sell luxury cars, and we are the only dealership that never sold over MSRP during COVID. I lost a lot of customers who were willing to pay over just to get their vehicle sooner from another dealership. So I get it. If you want something nobody else has, or sooner than youll get it anywhere else, and are not put out by paying a little more, then thats all that matters.

Even at $2,500 over you're still saving $2,500 over a TURD Pro! I'm seeing those discounted several thousand off MSRP, I think Toyota missed the mark on how loyal Tacoma owners will be.
I was a Toyota driver for many years but just couldn’t reward Toyota for what they have done with their trucks. I have a Ranger Raptor now and I love it. Goodbye Toyota.

I started this thread awhile ago. Recently, I was able to negotiate another $1,500 off, so for what it is worth, I am paying only $1,000 over MSRP. My build date is 2/28/25.

It's worth it IMO. This truck is a blast to drive, and it's in a category, all its own! My wife paid $4000 over msrp for her RR in April 2024. I paid $1500 over msrp for my RR in October 2024 from the same local dealer. We are both happy!

You do you. If you like it and it fits in your budget and makes you happy, that’s all that matters. Other people’s opinions are unimportant. Congratulations on finding another 1000 off. Now you can get started on some sweet upgrades.🍻

I was able get my RR at invoice, about $2300 off sticker. Dealer expects build date to be May or June.
I'm willing to wait to get the RR optioned as I want with no market adjustments or ADMs, dealer installed profits(wax, LoJack, paint protectant, dealership vacation fund, nitrogen filled tires, $1000 window tint, VIN etching etc...)

Anything over MSRP is too much
If no one paid the markups no dealer would try to charge them.
Just my opinion.
To each their own.
