I wish it was. Something happened to this truck on it's driver side. Everything is misaligned from the front fender to the two doors. The front driver side door is even hitting the fender when you open it and a bit of paint has already chipped off. What's sad is that it's pretty much already built similarly to how I'm planning to built ours. It has full skid plates, including in the lower trailing arms, sliders, tonneau cover, bed rack etc.
And the Carfax says “no accidents or damage.” Can’t rely on them, either… They are just a guide. As you did, still need to do your own inspections. Good eye!
That is a great thought. I will look into that now to see what I can do. Will go through all docs signed prior to finalizing the purchase to see what rights I have(if any) I am hoping that once they get it on a lift, there is nothing major. Was so happy with pricing that I failed to do my own due diligence. Also, know very little about trucks which is why pre-owned may have been the wrong way to go. Went in thinking any raptor branded product was meant to be off-road and was built for a bit of a beating. On road, the truck is a pleasure but I definitely need it throughly inspected before I take it anywhere that may create more problems. Appreciate the response.
I was looking at a F150 with the little diesel engine a few years ago. Truck was a year old, in Ohio, had low miles, looked great in the pics, carfax said minor fender bender, seller was a dealer who said it had minor damage to the tailgate. I tracked down the original dealership that sold it new and they had the original owner call me. Truck had been hit in a parking lot by another truck going over 50 mph. They had to replace the entire frame and a bunch of panels, glass, etc. $45K in work. No, they didn't total it. I presented all this info to Carfax and they said they only take the info given to them by the current owner, seller or dealership. They refused to amend their report or discuss it further. I let the seller know and they pretended they had no idea. Do not trust carfax or any other service like it.
Just go the truck back from Ford and they are reporting to known issues. I voiced my concerns to the tech and shared all details from the thread. He is stating that alignment looks good and the body/frame is perfect. Not sure if I should keep digging any further for problems. Enjoying the drive and excited for some fishing/surfing trips once the beach permits come in.
