I'll have to check this out once it warms up enough to make the install worth it.

My truck must have been one of the last made before the new design. Got my braces in a week or two ago.

Excellent video for anyone going to attempt this job. The advice to forego drilling out the two rivets on each side and use the dremel tool and sawsall instead is good advice as I had found the metal in these rivets to be hard. Nice job on the video.

Created a video about my process for j-brace install: hope you enjoy (plus i found a trick for the &$^# rivets...)

my Ranger Lariat completed build date was August 19, delivered Sep 6. Missed the date when they started to add the J-braces. Ford should fix this by recall or offer to install at their cost. Dis with a ford.

Absolutely agree. But they haven’t and I wanna use my truck for truck things. I also knew this going into the purchase (unlike many)

It seems a lot of work. what is the problem this is supposed to prevent and under which conditions?. I have had my truck for over 2 years using it daily and have not experienced any issue, I use it mostly for commuting, I rarely load it with anything except for the dogs and moving small items around like tires, etc.
