I had placed an order for the J brace required to put a camper on the Ranger. After a month plus of waiting I called the accessories phone number and a case was started. Then the order was cancelled yesterday without any information. Called again today and was informed they’re out of stock of them without an expected date for more to arrive, and thus the order was cancelled.

Now I wonder how I’m going to put the camper I recently ordered. Any ideas or third party options y’all know of would be appreciated. Just wanted to let y’all know the latest on the J brace fiasco!

Poor planning on Ford's part when they just should have made it the right way.....just to save a few bucks. :(

'Ohhhh, you wanted to do "truck stuff" in this truck?' You'll need the proper reinforcement for that, which will be an additional $200 and a painstaking installation. 🤦‍♂️

Good luck on getting your Ford Dealer to install them. The one I go to doesn't have a body shop and they don't want to touch this due to cutting away part of the corner for installation.
FYI, what I learn so far with trying to get them installed on my Ranger if you bought the Leer cap they come with there own brackets that goes inside the bed at the front corners, Ford bracket not required.
If you bought the ARE cap then you need the Ford brackets, they won't warranty the cap if not installed.
This above information comes from the Leer Dealer, this is in Virginia.
Hope this helps

I am pretty sure they are the same brace, Ford just includes it when you buy the topper.

No there actually different one is installed via the undercarriage from under the vehicle the other is as mentioned via the inside of the front bed corner.

I had ordered a CX revo and the dealer said the J braces MUST be installed prior to putting the shell in. The shell is going to take several weeks before it’s ready but now I’m not sure I’m going to have the braces installed prior to that. What a mess. I’d love to hear Ford on this, I know they lurk these posts.

I have been waiting since April, I received my vehicle on April 11 and ordered the cap in March.
So I understand the waiting and misinformation is really BS on Ford's part.
I'm getting nothing but the run around.
So good luck on your end all I can say is keep after whomever you're talking to, that's what lm doing.

Wild. I ordered my J braces on April 30th from Ford Accessories and had them in about 10 days.

They’ve been on back order without an ETA for months (at least here in Canada, where they are not even listed on the Ford accessories website). Been trying since April to get them but dealer says they can’t get them, Ford Canada customer satisfaction ppl pass the buck, literally no help from anyone.

The fact Ford, which monitors this forum, has seen hundreds of posts about this and responded to zero of them to give us some straight answers and some clarity, is beyond shameful (but tells you everything you need to know about whether any answers are going to be forthcoming any time soon).

Personally I’ve given up on it and resigned myself to putting a cheap tonneau on until this gets sorted out (this winter? Next year? Who knows)

Took about 6 weeks to get mine delivered to my dealership. I just dropped my RR off at the dealership yesterday to install JBraces, Keypad, and Method wheels while I am out of town for work. Got a message that JBraces and Keypad are installed a day early.

Originally had JBraces slated for Service department but they had to turn it over to Body Shop because of the cutting. Body Shop manager wanted to do them himself since it is the first one he has seen and expects to see more.

Mine is non Raptor. Since there are less raptors I assume there are more available for that trim.

Did you follow up with them as far difficulties in installing these brackets, just curious.
The Dealership I'm dealing with seems reluctant to even do it, only have a Service Department no Body Shop.
