Just an update on my situation. I did receive the dreaded 'Your order was canceled'. I called and that's just their policy. I purchased them with a 25% off coupon, so the guy escalated to see if they could get me another one of those coupons. As it stands now though, I just have to wait until they come back in stock.

So they build 1000's of trucks without this and the manufacture of this part just can't keep up with making them fast enough. Shame on Ford for even making a truck that can't support more than 88lbs on it's rails.

Just as concerning, now that they are in short supply/no supply, one would have to wonder about the quality of parts once they do start getting back into stock. I know it's just a fabbed part, but when a supplier gets pressure to make more quickly, or they find a new source, QC is usually the first thing to cut to get parts out the door.
