Are they needed if you have nothing for a load on the bed and you're doing serious offroading and some jumping? Mine is a 2024 and does not have updated bed.

From my understanding, they are only recommended if you are putting more than 88lbs above the bed rails to keep the sides of the bed from flexing/bending. If you are not putting weight above the bed rails, you should be fine.

If it was $10K to install them, I'd pass but at the price point I've been hearing, I would feel better with them installed for "serious offroading and jumping." An ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure and all that. Just my two cents.

Probably would be better. You dont want anything flexing and cracking
I do have a question. Has anybody without the braces really damaged their truck? I’ve not heard or seen a single instance of not having the braces has been a problem. However, I don’t get out much. 😁

If I were in your shoes, I'd feel a little better off-roading and jumping after installing the J-Braces.

I don't have them, but don't do heavy off roading or jumping. It's been a year with no issues.

I have seen one picture of cracks and one report on the forum. I bought the aftermarket one, took about 11/2 to do both sides, I would do it.

ok got some egr braces from my local supplier. The instructions differ slightly from what I'm seeing on the driver side bracket for the fuel hose. See attached. The red circled bracket won't let the brace sit flush against the bed structure. I don't think it matters? It still sits against where the bolts are fine.
Tried calling egr, no answer.
