Lane Centering - Seatbelt Required

Purchased a Lariat recently with lane keeping and centering. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn't, even on the same roads. I was going to take it to the dealer and complain until I noticed a pattern. It only worked when I was wearing my seatbelt! It took some digging to verify that an update now requires the seatbelt. Has anyone else noticed this?

Have not noticed the corelation. Seatbelt use is mandatory in Canada.

seat belt use has been mandatory in the usa since i got my license in 91 so i would have never noticed that.

i do occasionally see people who still drive with no seatbelt. since its been part of driving life for me, i cannot do it because its just natural to put it on

Never noticed since I’ve worn my seatbelt consistently since 1987. However, I had to turn down the sensitivity on it to the lowest setting. It was threatening me even with both hands on the wheel. I feel like if you don’t force minute adjustments, it’s gonna’ think you let go.

Also, yesterday was the first time I’ve used it on an excessively windy day (it’s tornado season here). It refused to comply and just kept shutting itself off.

Makes sense to me since every State has seat belt laws except New Hampshire.

Why are you driving around without a seatbelt is the better question. Do you feel cooler or something?

That does seem like it would have been better to note the seat belt was causing the issue
