I got a light bar for the Ranger Raptor from Altiq in AU. It fits fine in the normal ranger behind the grill, but the wiring kit is designed for the Raptor with the Aux switches. I know the Auz 5 and 6 on the Raptor only go on with the high beams. As you may know, there are no AUX switched in the Lariat.

I am looking for the high beam trigger wire to use to turn a relay on and off with the high beams. Anyone know where this is. If not, any thoughts on where else to tap into?

As I understand it, with LEDs and with the way the Ranger is set up with the BCM, it is very sensitive to various loads and you cannot tap straight into the wire to the lights, or anything else for that matter.

I will upload pics and info as soon as I get this completed. BTW, Altiq DOES ship to the US and the time it took was only about 8 days from ordering. The shipping for this light bar was around $80, which is quite reasonable.

Update: In order to install the light bar, you need to trim some from the back of the grill or you can't install the grill back in. I am going to order a new Raptor like grill instead.

The high beams trigger wire is located behind the lower driver's side kick panel. It is a wire that literally has a sticker on it that says high beam. Just tap into that and you can install a relay.

Love it on my Raptor, didn't require any trimming and wired directly into my AUX6 - works on both low and high beams (or with lights off). Very nice!

I went with the Austrailian Wildtrax-X/Tremor grill in mine. Has LED projectors under the turn signals.

Update: The high beam wire does not provide 12 V. I think it is somewhere to pick up a signal to some processor to send 12V so you can't use for a trigger wire for a relay.

Since the fog light turn off with the high beams, I am tapping into the fog light to pin 87a on a 5 pin relay. I now need a switched fuse to add. I can't seem to find one.

Does anyone know which fuse under the hood as an ignition switched spare?

Please explain to me like I am 5. You are using the fog lights that are off to trigger your light bar to come on. I feel dumb but if that is what powers your relay the lights will not come on with the high beams. I I missing something. I want to be able to run lights with the high beams so they shut off when high beams shut off
