Hey guys, I'm looking for auxiliary reverse lights with fairly low profile to install right below the rear bumper. I plan on connecting to the aux switched power back on the rear driver's side. ''

Can you guys give recommendations for a waterproof flood light with great lumens?

I saw these today from another light bar thread here. Figured I'd see if you guys can tell me your favorite product.

That is what I installed on my RR. Very happy with the lights and the seller shipped them out very quickly from west coast.

Easy installation, once I found the Aux wire bundle. They were tucked up higher than I expected…

Both hot wires are brown, but I got lucky and found #5 first.

The lights are bright and easy to aim.

Good luck!

These are DX4 scene led from ALTIQ. They have other options. Bolt up to existing holes in hitch.

@dguffin that is exactly what I have in mind. I found mounting spots at those two points under that hitch crossbar. I added halogen lamps on my FJ for extra light when backing up at night and it helped a lot.

I have a cool set on my Jeep Wrangler, and on my previous Gladiator, that you were able to wire into the reverse lights (it came with a plug and play harness) I hope we get something like that for the RR soon.

I flush mounted some Baja Designs S1 pods next to the license plate and wired them up to Aux4

@mtesni that's a great idea I hadn't even thought of that approach. That area is plastic, right? So a pretty novel place to flush-mount those lights. How many lumens are those pushing out?

Are these the flush mount Baja Designs LED Light Poood Flush Mount Clear S1 Wide Cornering ones on Amazon?

Yes, that section is all plastic, one nice thing with these is that the cutout is a 2-1/2" circle so its super easy to do with a hole saw. 2320 Lumens per pod according to Baja Designs, I picked them up from https://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-s1-led-flush-mount-wide-cornering/ it was cheaper to buy 2 single pods and make a harness than to buy the kit with 2 lights.

Thanks for the advice guys. I figured I'd try these $33 lights from Amazon and they have been pretty bright. The install was not bad, I used existing holes under the trailer hitch and the wire loom is at the bumper on the driver's side. I used the AUX3 wires. That AUX switch panel in the cab is so cool, you don't need a relay or to tie-in to your reverse lights this way.

This looks great. Any details on the harness? Any chance you found a way to hook the lights to turn on when reverse gear is enabled and also be controllable via AUX?

I'm wondering how much work it'll be to make a harness that does that and also maintains the red-backlight capability of something like a Diode dynamics equivalent.

I kept the wiring super simple, used the 2 pin male weather pack connectors that Baja Designs includes with the lights and some 14awg to connect to the power and ground wires for Aux 4. I do have the proper crimpers which make life much easier.

I'm working on figuring out what the reverse trigger is on the BCM for my 3rd Brake/Chase lights. Might have to buy a subscription to get he wiring diagrams from Ford.

I did initially start off with a Diode Dynamics C1R HitchPod but it constantly tripped the trailer detection system. Didn't have access to wiring diagrams back then either so I just returned it and went this route.

I looked at those before I went with the S1's. I planned around running a 315/70-17 spare in the stock location so mounting depth was a concern for me. Using the S1's allowed them to be rotated to fit with the larger tire. Also, not sure about real world output but the S1's are rated at 2320 lumens each and the S2 Pro's are 2245

Messaged you on the BCM pin.
