Had my dealer visit my house and do the update for the loss of brake boost issue. Tech said that the ones he's done so far, the owners never experienced the issue.

I did, and it was disconcerting when it happened. Almost kissed more than one bumper because of it.

After the service, the brakes feel changed in a significant way. Seems like it has power now where it's supposed to, but overall less (takes more effort then it did previously).
Also, my dash configuration changed, specifically my custom gauges. It changed out my Oil temp for the Oil pressure, which I don't care about. If there is no pressure, I have bigger problems at hand and the damage is already done.
It also changed my custom menu (name escapes me at the moment) and removed things I set.

I wonder what other things this single update changed that it shouldn't. At least now I have consistent brake feel. I'll get used to the changes, but do wish there was a little more power behind it.

Just for awareness for those that are having this recall completed.

The gauge settings changed after a couple updates on both my 2021 F150 and my wife's 2024 Escape. Happened at the dealership and over the internet at home. Sometimes I go to start a vehicle in the morning and the gauges have changed. Also, am amazed your dealer makes house calls. Mine is 19 miles away and I asked them to come for an update because I was recovering from surgery and could not drive. I was told I lived too far away and just come when I was allowed to drive, which was six weeks later. They would not drive me home when a vehicle had to be left overnight under warranty or give me a courtesy vehicle, so I rented one. These things cost them money, I know, but Ford seems to have changed many corporate policies since sinking $billions into EVs.

You can reconfigure your gauges and other things, just go your settings and adjust everything the way you had it prior to the update. The same thing happen to my Ranger after the update but it's all back the way I had it.

Has anyone had this update for brake response performed on RR with the Ford Performance hp upgrade and did it change the upgrade at all?

After all my experiences with dealers, this dealer has treated me right so far. They actually contacted me by phone to set up the appointment before I got the notice. I too live about 20 miles from them and they had no problem sending a mobile tech, they actually offered it up front. Damerow Ford in Beaverton Oregon.

Uh, yeah, of course you can reconfigure things. Fact is, shouldn't have to. There is no reason for a brake module update to have anything to do with anything else. Makes me feel like they changed things they are not disclosing.

Either way, I have consistent brakes now even if they feel different.

I had the update from a mobile service tech In my driveway.

tech showed up on time and 16 minutes later he was done and gone.

I guess I’ll see how the brakes feel. But I thought they were ok before.

edit: I don’t think the brakes are any different and my gauges didn’t change.
