I ended up doing the blendmount again and running a mirror tap for my RD. However, I still hardwired my dashcam to the fuse box. I dont think it's wise to run both off one fuse.
Thanks! I don't have my RR yet, is the fuse panel you used down in the pedal area or ? Wondering if I could tap into one of the hot wires coming to the overhead oem switches? That would be closer but I'm not sure which would be the easiest.

The fuse panel is under the steering column and very easy to get to. There are other threads on here explaining which fuses to tap into. I do not recommend using one of the aux switches either.

i am wondering if the wire we are tapping into can support both a radar detector and a camera? I am perfectly fine with a radar detector shutting down after the truck is off a while, that is how i had my 2019 wired in however i really want the ability to have my dash cam power up automatically when motion or an impact occurs when its parked and off. i dont wanna drain the battery but it would be a nice extra protection plus i only wanna take the mirror cover off once if at all possible.
You'll have to hard wire the dash cam if you want park mode. The mirror doesn't have power when truck is off.

This thread was incredibly helpful. Thanks, everyone. I do have a little more gap between the headliner and the mirror panel than I did when I first took it off. I felt around for any clips that weren't engaged, and I think all of them are. Most people probably wouldn't see it, but since I saw it before/after, I notice a bit.

Big thanks to jrRaptor for the diagnostic research in this thread. It made the MirrorTap install sooooo easy. I think another forum member already stated it, but it really does take more time to install and adjust the Blendmount bracket than it does to install the MirrorTap wiring harness.

Any of you fine folks used an alternative to the Blendmount wire adapter. I have a Uniden R3 detector and 50 bucks for a wire.......? Amazon has a few more cost-effective solutions and just wandering any of you chose other than Blendmount?

OK Don Vandyke.....you got me going on this fine Sunday morning here in the Rockies.

Just as a sanity check....here are my pictures:
I have the right connector....yes (white= 12vdc positive and purple= ground)

Here is the cable I have chosen. Given your Amazon purchase and you have a Uniden....whatcha think? Hey......I'm a simple old man who needs pictures and all the help he can get.

Mission accomplished and thanks to Mr. Vandyke for helping me along the way. The fuse tap worked flawlessly and accessing the correct power source was a breeze. I chose a suction cup mount for the initial installation as its design serves me well in all my other vehicles. However, it does have its downside if not constantly checked and y'all know what I mean. After researching all the mounting options available, I'm hopeful that someday a better design will come available. But for now.....this will have to do.

Looks great, I need to do mine. Then I have to explore a dash cam with the g shock parking sensor . Not sure if that would need to be a lead from the battery (do those cams go into sleep mode to save battery?) Or can I tap that lead for the radar detector and the cameras. If they power off via the truck however does the g shock get power, an internal battery?

Hi, Great thread - I easily removed the 2 piece plastic mirror surround and located the 5 point pin on the left (drivers) side of the rear view mirror. My problem is how do you remove the plug/pin and secondly how do you get them apart. A bit paranoid about breaking, any guidance to achieve and fit the Dongar would be appreciated. I questioned Dongar on the correct model fit and they have asked for pictures of the 5 pin. Thanks, help appreciated!
