Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time posting. I finally decided to proceed ahead with going back to Ford (had a gen 1 Raptor) and ordering a RR. As of now I have two options on the table.

1) Order at MSRP from a local dealer. The salesman stated that their “allocated” order is already accounted for but he’ll still input another order and see what happens. He stated it would probably be 6 months until it processes.

2) Order at $2500 ADM from another local dealer for their allocated Raptor. It might be complete bogus but it sounds like I could get this one significantly sooner.

Thoughts?

Thank you

If dealer #2 is for real, from all I have read on here...RUN....don't walk and take option #2!

Appreciate the replies. I don’t understand how the allocation order compares to the other order, which I’m assuming is a “retail” order. Would my assessment in getting the “allocated“ vs “retail” much sooner be correct?

First to answer your question, yes, getting the "allocated" (scheduled now) vs the other "retail" down the line order will probably save you six months as your retail dealer stated. In your case the dealer that has the scheduled allocated order must have put it in as a stock dealer order, or a customer backed out of their retail order and the dealer just left the retail order in.

It appears that a dealer is to get one (1) allocation of the RR at least initially. (Edit: I originally incorrectly wrote per month). Allocations can be stock or retail for the dealer, depending on if they have a customer (retail) or order it themselves (stock). Scheduled notifications from Ford went out on Thursday. Some members got a scheduling notification some did not. A VERY FEW lucky members have not had to pay over ADM, most have, for the somewhat lucky one's it was around $5k. Some dealers have been asking $20k! There is never any guarantee on waiting as to WHEN you will get that retail RR. After this batch of scheduling, a six months wait may be correct, but it could be MUCH longer. ANYTHING can crop up on delaying your later retail order for too many reasons to go through here.

If you have a dealership that truly has an RR available (scheduled) with an ADM of only $2.5k, I would JUMP on it! If it something you want to wait on because you are in the "I will not pay above MSRP boat" which is where I'm at on a non-specialty vehicle, but not on the RR...then wait...IF you don't mind waiting for who knows how long, AND there is always a very good chance that dealership will decide to add an ADM.

Allocations can be stock or retail for the dealer, depending on if they have a customer (retail) or order it themselves (stock). Scheduled notifications from Ford (your vehicle order is going to get built) went out on Thursday. I do not know if anymore RR scheduling will be forthcoming soon, I don't believe so, but again, I could be wrong on that. Some members got a scheduling notification some did not. A VERY FEW lucky members have not had to pay over ADM, most have, for the somewhat lucky one's it was around $5k. Some dealers have been asking $20k! I will stress one more time, if you have a dealer that is only asking $2.5K ADM and you can get a confirmed RR scheduled in your name and a written guarantee from the dealer of the final price with ADM, I would not hesitate. In the end it is your choice of course. I hope my reply helped.
Where did one allocation a month come from? Everything else has said one only for now but with more allocations being distributed in Q4.

I depends on if you need it now or can wait. I would retail order at MSRP and your price is locked even if you're 6 months out.

I put down a $500 deposi, the one thing I’m sure of most of the sales guys don’t have a clue. Ford is not keeping them in the loop. Find a reputable dealer. Never pay more then The sticker price. I will not and my dealer doesn’t screw their customers like that

My dealer & the other two I’ve spoken to others claimed to have one allocated to them, not one per month one. All three said they would most likely get more, they just didn’t have any idea how many and when. Good luck everybody I feel confident we will all receive our truck one day.

I haven't heard or seen anything like that on here. All I've heard was each dealer is getting one and then more in the 4th quarter. I will say my dealer thinks Ford is going to make more then they originally planned to make but that's just what I was told and I have no proof of that.
I'll be interested to see if @fordvideoguy can confirm anything like this.

I would have ordered my RR if I was offered 2500 markup, my dealer said 10k. Hard pass!

I would reach out to Ford Motor company, report that dealer and ask if there are any reputable dealers they can suggest. you should be able to file a complaint with FMC regional.
