  1. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

From your prior posts, I was 50/50 on your strong stance against ADM's. Now seeing how things are going, I 100% agree. The line has to be drawn, question is, do car buyers have the will to "Bud Light" them!
  2. Future of cars is a subscription nightmare

Below are excerpts from two different online articles, with links provided. Personally, I'm flabbergasted over the whole idea of paying for features that are already installed in the vehicle. Anyway, just FYI as it's not just GM, but probably coming to most, if not all automakers. Hopefully, if...
  3. No Ranger Scheduling This Week (9/21/23). Job 1 Now 9/25.

Gentleman, can we just please stay on topic so this thread does not get shut down by the mods as others have. Arguing the same points over and over again is not going to change the other point of views mind. I would like to learn and hear constructive counterpoints (or agreements) to what I just...
  4. No Ranger Scheduling This Week (9/21/23). Job 1 Now 9/25.

I second the above question. According to the OP, U.S. Scheduling of JOB 1 has been pushed to 09/25. As such, could you please clarify from what source you "checked production" as what you wrote (other then the zero) is seemingly incompatible with post #1 of this thread. And, I'm not aware of...
  5. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

Now that I did not know...interesting! Thank you for the info.
  6. No Ranger Scheduling This Week (9/14/23) - Job 1 Production Now 9/18/23

Mine from Oct 2nd, to the 16th, to the 23rd to the 30th. I suspect it's going to continue for all the reasons we on here allready know of.
  7. Salaried workers fill parts orders only?

That is essentially my thoughts as well regarding this matter. Parphrasing the above, I have to agree. I find it a bit of a stretch that Ford would actually put salaried workers with zero, or at best, long forgotten experience working the line...actually out on the line.
  8. Salaried workers fill parts orders only?

If I'm understanding correctly, one of you is stating the "shop part" as the assembly plants would shut down. And, the other stating, you yourself have (or at least have actually seen) salaried employees made to work the assembly line based on personal experience. I can see both happening based...
  9. Ford Paint Protection Film

I'm getting it done aftermarket as well, and same coverage as you. I'm totally OCD about rock chips and the like, so it's worth it to me. I just hope it "looks invisible" or close too. I've never had it done before.
  10. Salaried workers fill parts orders only?

Observation...where are we getting the information that white-collar workers are being prepared to actually build vehicles. Per forum posts this is allegedly the case. However, I've read several articles that mention they are being trained only to keep parts being manufactured and work the...
  11. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

This is NOT directed at anyone personally. While I recognize I can't contol comments (nor do I wish to) as the OP, I can't help feeling a bit flustered how this thread has degraded from what I thought would be useful updates and constructive opinions for those that did not have time to read up...
  12. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

If you are referring to the above comment, this was meant as a depreciative joke at the beginning of my post. I can't tell if your response recognizes that or not. If not, I would of course prefer a reasonable settlement between both parties, yes... preferably without a strike. I'm more worried...
  13. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

My periodic postings on this topic are simply meant to be updates, not a prediction. Admittedly, in re-reading my own post, I see how my pessimistic "sinking feeling" intro can be taken as such. The talks formally began July 18th, 2023. We now have until September 14th, I'm not sure I would...
  14. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

Just lovely! Yes, I want employees to have fair and reasonable compensation while allowing the companies to remain competitive. The selfish side of me has a very sinking feeling this is going to push builds months into the future. :frown: Two headlines from today Sept 1st. AUTOS Ford Made an...
  15. 2024 Ranger Lariat FX4 walkaround at dealer

Good to know, I will sleep on it. Thank you for the information!
  16. 2024 Ranger Lariat FX4 walkaround at dealer

To be honest, I did go chrome. In looking at those wheels, it has me second guessing that choice as those seem way brighter than the build and price photos. I'm locked in now with a VIN and schedule date, I will see upon delivery two years from now what I think. (I hope I'm kidding!) Worst case...
  17. 2024 Ranger Lariat FX4 walkaround at dealer

Good point, I assume a really early delivery/order before they were required for reason/reasons yet unknown! It sure does look beautiful though!
  18. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

Your $.02 is noted and taken sincerely. While I can't control what others write, I assure you my comments are not personal, political or otherwise. I think we have a misunderstanding regarding the reasoning behind my post. It is simply an opinion to all about civily following forum rules and...
  19. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

That pretty much sums it up.
  20. UAW kicks off talks with 'Detroit Three'

I sent you a PM as the response is a bit long and off topic.
