Gotcha thanks. I was just curious if things changed. I’m in North America so not sure how much difference there will be in new Ranger. I’ve never owned a Ranger and excited for the new model.
I am too. I've owned a 5G but sold it in anticipation of the new 6G. I've watched an embarrassing amount of videos on the new Ranger living vicariously through Australia and the rest of the world.

Nice!! I'm leaning toward the Gen 6 Ranger WildTrak. Does it have the auto 4 wheel? I noticed it didn't have the button for it. I just want more info for the states. In dire need of a new vehicle. Also would love it in eruption green. lol

Drove it to work yesterday. Nothing extravagant. Simple drive, but the more I drive it, the more I like it...

Howdee gang! Introducing myself as the owner of a brand new Gen 6 Ranger WildTrak. Picked it up on 12 January 2023 and gotta say, most of y’all are going to love it! I say most because after being on other forums for my Bronco, Jeeps, and Raptors, I know there are those on forums that basically hate everything!

Initial shakedown cruise showed that even bone stock this is one tough truck. We ended up covering the entire range of conditions: pavement, gravel, dirt, mud, deep loose sand, multiple river crossings, steep climbs coming out of the river up sandy and rocky embankments. You name it, we likely crossed it. Did great!

Phenomenal interior. Great ride. Great tech. More to follow but initial thoughts all include “wow.”

Thanks… and congrats on the new Ranger. So far have added the Summit bull bar and twin compressor from ARB to the WildTrak. Both went on great and added capability to an already well built and well designed truck. Enjoy yours and keep us posted on the adventures!!

Eruption Green looks amazing on the Bronco and with the body style and lines on the Ranger I could see it being a hit!

I’m on a three year test drive while on assignment here. Based on how it’s done so far, absolutely getting one when I get home. Incredible truck!

I remember you mentioned getting the ARB air compressor built into the bed of your truck. Have you done that yet?

Just did. Went in great! I don’t have the accessory switches but the guys at ARB did a fantastic job installing the factory switch below the headlight switch within easy reach. Is going to be very useful I believe. Will just need to find a good spot to mount one in the Bronco when I get home. With all the pre-engineering done on the Ranger making things so easy for the aftermarket, I’m hoping Ford continues the trend on other vehicles….

How about a pic under the hood of the engine.
Tried to get you one a little bit ago. Unfortunately I’m down to one working arm right now so couldn’t lift and hold the hood and work the prop rod at the same time. As soon as I can I’ll get you a few shots. Anything in particular you want to see? Or just general arrangement?

Nice. I wonder if we will see the Wildtrak in North America.

By the way on the rear seats does the rear cargo seat fold up and have a flat area for storing stuff? Wouldn’t mind some picture of rear seat and cargo space.
I’ll get you a couple as soon as I can. It does indeed fold up and has storage room underneath. It unfortunately does not have the large, flat floor like the F-150 does. Still very functional.

In addition, the redesign of the truck bought a couple extra inches that was put to good use in the cab. The rear seat back is at a much better angle and you get a little better cushion with great leg support. In addition you get a little more legroom so your rear seat passengers are much better off. Sure beats the flip down jump seats in my last Ranger (2002 XLT extended cab 4x4)

That's so awesome! Thanks for the pics! I love how they engineered a hidden spot in the bed for a compressor. That will be great for off-roading and mountain biking.

Absolutely! Thought the same thing. With it located there it has a couple other advantages as well that I’ve found:

1. Doesn’t take up any extra space in the bed and is already secured. I almost went with the portable kit (so I could take it home after this tour) but after thinking about it didn’t want it bouncing around in the back when I’m off-road.

2. It’s protected really well from the elements, particularly the dusty environment here which will save on maintenance in the long run.

3. With the location, the long hose, and the accessory kit, it’s great for airing up other vehicles, tubes, floats, balls, trailer tires, etc for everyone in the party or those I find along the trail. It’s a great design and with the twin compressor there’s plenty to go around!

Sorry I forgot to answer the auto 4x4 question earlier. While it doesn’t have the auto mode where you can set it and forget it if necessary, it does have terrain functions similar to the GOAT modes on the Bronco in addition to the basic 2 HI, 4HI buttons. Turning the dial makes it quick to adjust all settings to your conditions. Not quite as easy as auto, but still highly functional.

The only thing I am a bit disappointed in (maybe Thailand models ) but interior has no mood lighting ! So night time very dark in side , no LEDs shining down on cup holder and gear shifter and no puddle lamps or footwell lights.
Going to add a selection myself.
But minor issues really.
Be lucky friend.
