Hello everyone, new member here. I have a 2025 RR, which I love. This thing is a blast to drive.

I want to add some lights, and your opinions are needed.

My plan is to add 2 Baja Design LP4s to on A-pillar mounts, and 4 LP6s in the front, mounted on a Foutz Front Light Mount Kit.
I want high output with a reputable brand. I'm also considering KC Lighting.

My concern is, first and foremost, airflow to the radiator with the LP6s, and if the LP4s are too big for this truck mounted on the A-pillars.

Here is picture, of a similar layout, except for the larger LP6s in the middle.

Please share your honest opinions, as they are all welcome.

Thanks!

Maybe check out Nacho Off Road Lighting. I have their Nano's for chase lights and am ordering the Quattro Supreme 80's this afternoon for the A pillar. Their tech is really cool with Tip to Chip technology. 5 programable modes and massive output.

I am going a similar route. Baja Designs is great stuff, but pricey. (That pic shows two LP9's in the middle and two LP6s on the outer). Spend some time on Baja Designs website. They explain light zones and recommend 80% of light should come from below hood line. A popular set up is to have the smaller amber set up on A pillar and main lighting in front, below hood line. You can get a lot of glare off hood. I will be starting off installing mine with Foutz front light mount and two LP6s. I suspect that will provide ample light for me, with less air restriction. LP6 have side lights integrated in light that cover 200 degree angle. The LP6 combo light has a low and high beam The low beam are flood lights (zone 3), and the high are spot lights for distance. That is why these lights are over $500 a piece and 90% of Baja racers run them, they work.

That's the problem with Baja is that they are way over priced and owned by a hedge fund. Nacho is the founding team from Rigid (also bought by a hedge fund). So a few years ago they decided to get back together and create Nacho. Because everone loves nachos. I would recommend checking out this You Tube channel https://www.youtube.com/@4WDisLife He tests everything out there and is very thorough.

The 90% statement may be true of all Baja racers but that's not the majiority of us and they most likely get them for free. The Nacho lights are almost 1/2 the money for a better light with better tech. Not saying that Baja is bad. I'm just saying there are options out there that many might want to look at. And the customer service is outstanding.

Point taken. This kind of feels like the old Ford/Chevy debate...Another alternative that is more budget friendly than both Nacho and Baja Designs is Harbor Freight Roadshock Edge 6LED. This is their clone of Baja Designs LP6. BD engineered it, Harbor freight built a cheaper mouse trap.
All the reviews I have seen comparing to BD have been fantastic. The Roadshock 6LED sells for $150 each AND comes with amber cover and black cover. BD retails LP6 for $525 and charges extra for amber lens cap. You can buy 3 Harbor freight lights and still be ahead vs 1 Baja Designs LP6.

Well, you asked for an opinion…..here’s mine

I think they look goofy….makes some one who’s driving that look scared of the dark

I prefer light bars

I really like the look and functionality of the stock ones that came on my ZR2

Been running BD's for years on multiple vehicles. Best out there IMO.

Do you drive offroad at 50mph + in pitch black and need light to keep up with you? If yes, then get Baja Designs.

If no, then get whatever else.

BD is quality stuff when you’re looking at LP4, LP6, Onx6, S8, etc. But squadron pros vs. diode dynamics offerings vs. rigid, it’s all a toss up since they are so small.

BD are the benchmark. Few people really need them but if you're running hard at night, they're what you want. Diode Dynamics also has some great front lights but BD remain best in class. I mounted 5 x LP6 on Foutz mount bar. LP9 might be too restrictive in airflow, but LP6 are awesome.

FWIW, the BD SP2 Sport are also amazing mounted to the rear bed either on a rock or, AAL now have direct mounts onto the rails.

Thank you all for your opinions.
I decided to go with a pair of Nacho Quatro Supreme 80 as ditch lights for the time being. I love the quality of these lights.
My next mod is the SignatureLux Lava Amber DRLs, which I already have the parts for, but I don’t know if I want to tackle that yet. I have a felling I might screw something up.

Since you have the coolest build here you should grab some Nachos. I think you will change your mind…

Running the LP 4 ditch lights worked really good today.. lead truck was pretty far up and he could see the amber lights way behind him.. also going to run lp 6 on front bumper mount

I'm likely going Auxbeam for now. They aren't the best lights, but I can buy multiple sets for the price of one pair the Roadshock ones from Harbor Fright or anything from BD, DD, Rigid, and Nacho. Most of them seem to review fairly well.

The 4WD is Life channel on YouTube has some good reviews and he shows the actual beam pattern, cutoffs, throw, wattage/amp draw, and LUX. His narration might put you to sleep, but at least he has a fairly calm voice that isn't AI.
