Took delivery of my 2020 Raptor and very pleased so far except ......... I tested the winch and I've hit a problem - it's my first winch and I had difficulty getting some cable out - the mechanism seemed to make the right noises and with a helping hand I managed to extract about 20ft. Problem is I can't get it to retract, so the vehicle is pretty much undriveable (safely). I have a remote handset and after consulting the instructions, I'm pretty sure I'm doing the right things in the right order. Motor is working but no retraction of the cable. I can't get at any aspect of the unit to take a look (as per numerous youtube vids I've looked at) so I'm looking for some clues. I've put the garage from which I bought it on standby as a fault, but it's a bit of a drive back if/when they agree to repair it. Anyone out there got an ideas for me?

I'll take a stab...
First, you're in the wrong forum...
As far as I know the Raptor did not come with a winch, so the winch and mount are probably aftermarket. Every electric winch has an engagement lever or knob. Turn it one way to freewheel and pull out cable, turn it the other way to engage the gearing and power the cable back in. Usually it's on the driver's side housing.
Sounds like it's either in freespool, or maybe it's actually broken...

Yeah, this forum is mostly focused on the 6th generation of Ranger (including the Raptor), which are the 2024-2026 model years. I believe you're looking for https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/

As oxy said, there is no oem winch offered on the 6th generation.

There is a 2020 ranger raptor, but it was only sold in Australia as far as I can tell? OP appears to be in the UK however.

True, though a AUS 2020 Ranger Raptor would still be a 5th gen Ranger.

For everyone who doesn't fully know about the wonders of the Australian Ranger market they also have a current gen Ranger Tremor and Ranger Platinum.
