Hey everyone, I've been thinking long and hard about how to get more room behind the rear seats for a sub box, and thought maybe brackets could be made to move it forward. Seems I wasn't brilliant and this idea had been done for the F150, but it proved I wasn't stupid and that it can be done.
I reached out to American Adventure Lab to see if they could fab these up for us. I mean, who wouldn't give up a few inches of rear legroom (meh, the kids can suffer like we did) for more in-cab storage? But unfortunately this means they need to get legal involved, get fancy insurance in case you kill yourself installing it, etc.
To mitigate their fears that not enough folks would buy it to cover the investment, I suggested a poll to get a head count of people who would be interested in buying some high quality, USA made rear seat relocation brackets! Trust me, you want @AdventureLab making these, not me.
For those curious, this is how I envision it. These would likely move the seat forward about 2.5", and up by the thickness of the bracket plate. Rear latch bar would likely be reused with spacers, and a new one drilled into the tunnel. Might increase recline a bit.
Poll is open for 2 weeks. One vote per customer, please. Thanks!
