Question for those who already have their truck. I'm looking online of pics with the back seat folded down with the rear head rests removed. It looks like a great level platform for my dog. Currently she has the entire cargo area in the 4R and I've tried putting her in the back seat of other vehicles but she never settles down.

I'm a big supporter of Canvasback Liners and was going to work with them to get a cover for the back of the seat. Dog hair on that type of material (at least from the close up pics I came across) is just going to hold a lot of hair...and she has a lot.

Now to my question... does the back of the seat have support? Or is it just a cloth cover with zero support simply there to cover the void and not have the rear seat cushion exposed when folded down?

I've already researched and found ways of dealing with the middle seat belt when the rear seat is folded down. I'm not concerned with that.

She's about 82lbs so I'm hoping there is adequate support there.

Thanks!

I put a towel down and my 82 lbs boxer rides shot gun in my Ranger raptor. Only issue is she likes to rest her jowls on the center console drive knob and puts my truck into a different drive mode sometimes. Haha

I have two small huskey hybrids, twenty pounds a piece, so I put in a canvas liner without putting the back down. I do have to vacuum at least once per week.

To answer you directly though, yes the back seats have enough support while folded down. However, I still recommend a canvas liner because there are small holes where the child harness attachments hook on where your put could hurt her paw without something covering. The canvas would also make it easy to vacuum.

If you buckle your pup in, there are attachments that hook into those same child harness brackets.

I'd get you pics, but I'm on vacation right now with no access to the truck.

I hope that helps though

I put my 110# dog in the back w/ seat down and a cover. The back of the seat is firm and there's plenty of support. Sorry I don't have any pics. Mind sharing your middle seatbelt solution?

thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

Regarding the rear middle seat belt mod... two options I found:

https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/center-back-seatbelt-removal.9991/#post-163552

and

https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/center-back-seatbelt-removal.9991/page-2#post-167001

last link moves the seatbelt behind the seat and thus more of a long term mod than the first link.

I use a pet hammock that has a solid bottom for my 50# + english springer spaniel. It has sides with straps that wrap around front and rear headrests and the side rear hangers above the window. Keeps the drool off and helps keep him from jumping into the front seat. Still have to vacuum regularly.
I also have a plug-in small fan that I can use for better air circulation back there.
Sorry, no pics with the seat folded down.

The latter is what I came up with. Still haven't had a need for the middle belt.
