New Ranger break-in period?

5W30, it's easy to find good value synthetic WSS-M2C961-A1 oil. I use motorcraft filter to make sure I have no warranty issues.

If you're in colder climate like me (I use 0W30 for winter season), and Mobil1 AFE 0W30 is the only I can find at good value that meets WSS-M2C963-A1. I think there's a Castrol one as well but about double the price in my area.

Meh....just drive like normal....I don't baby it and I don't beat it. took it up to 5k rpms couple of times then back off....I want to seat the rings.

I guess I think of laboring the engine as shifting too early.

this implies the opposite.

i mean it’s an automatic transmission for goodness sake how much control do you really have?

By no means pound on it, but seriously don’t treat it like a baby. Old man always told me if you treat it like a baby it’ll act like a baby……trucks & women.
50+ years later and I’m still using that reasoning.
Just don’t keep drive it symmetrical either. Variety is the key.

BIGGEST piece of advice….get that 1st oil change at 1,500 miles. JUST DO IT!
