You all expecting to get a 2024 model in 2023? This is both a rhetorical and figurative question…

Please tell me am I missing something here?

Nearly every vehicle manufacturer starts selling next-year models in current-year and it has always been this way.

Prior to COVID issues when lots were always full, dealers would be discounting current-year vehicles (2023) in fall to get them sold, and they would be bringing the next-year models (2024) in that same time period as they got shipped out.

Got a text from my dealership informing me that my lariat (no fx4 package) would not be scheduled for about 2 months from now. Just FYI. However I did request from them to delay it as much as possible. It seems dealerships have more luck at being able to delay an order than speeding one up.

From what you have been worried about, that is good news Scott! Who knows if "they were able to delay" or it just happened to work out that way. But, at least you got some updated info. Hopefully it works out that way.

No they didn’t give a reason why. They know I want my delayed so I wonder if they’re just saying that to please me or it really will be 2 months till scheduling. They said “It’s still unscheduled and priority 19. Frank said it will likely be at least another 2 months.” Frank being the ordering manager.

Scheduling (and commits) at this point is probably pretty dependent on UAW discussion. This week and next are going to be cleanup weeks for populating the rest of the lines for Q3. Ranger is a little different with such a long production run, and having to share a line with the bronco. Expect everything to be back on track 1st 2 full weeks in august

I was checking my order status with Ford today. Last week I was priority 10, this week I am a priority 3. Hopefully this means I will have a good chance at being one of the first for Job 2.

How do you check the status without a VIN?

Just use Ford chat and tell them your order number and the Dealer code and they can look it up.

Job 2 is months away.. you'll likely still get scheduled in Job 1..

At least I could confirm my dealership correctly put in code 03 like I had requested. lol

Won't be Job 1 for me, my dealer already burned their allocation on someone else, but says I am next up.

My dealer had 2 or 3 allocations and 2 of us got a build dates, so you never know what might happen.
