The lights that I have purchased for my 2025 Ford Ranger STX is N1WZ-13A756-A & B (Left and Right sides). So I have called and visited 4 dealerships for help. 1 of the dealerships says they are plug and play, plug them in and they should work, 2. dealership say they have no idea. 3. dealership says they can figure it out for around $250.00. 4. dealership ask me to bring it in and they will not charge me, because I purchased the truck there. they attempted to use their computer on it, but they would not turn on. So I took it back to them and they had it all day on a Friday and when I returned to pick up the truck with still no luck with the activation of the lights. From my understanding the lights should come on when I open the door or press the unlock/lock on the key fob. So will it take (FORScan) to turn on my lights...

Did you try pushing the bed light swich in the cab? Mine won't automatically come on. I have to push the button.
This truck is not equipped with the switch, these lights should be tied into all lights on the truck, so when you when you push the unlock or lock, they should turn on, also you can turn the light that is on the back of the cab (3rd break light) of the truck using the dimmer switch that is next to the head light controls, but nothing.... The Ford dealership (#4) has reached out to me and informed me that they have purchased a OBD Link EX (tool)and is looking into FORScan app. to see if this will fix the issue. Wishing that we had a YouTube video for this solution. Stay tune...

On your 2025 Ford Ranger STX, the wiring harnesses for the OEM bed lights (N1WZ-13A756-A & B) are physically present under the bed, but the Body Control Module (BCM) is programmed off from the factory.
it will take FORScan to turn on your lights.

Thanks, wondering why the Ford Dealerships don't know this....

That's right. I forgot they don't have that button on some of the trims. Which is crazy because my previous 21 ranger xlt had a button for it.

They are off for my 25 ranger raptor too. Good to know I can fix it with the Forscan tool.

Seems strange that a truck that came with them wouldn’t have them enabled. My truck is the same as yours and I just checked. Mine don’t turn on either.

It's my biggest pet peeve with the truck. All the other lights turn on when I unlock with the key fob, except the bed lights. Since I have a tonneau cover, the overhead bed light doesn't help if I just want to grab something out of the back.

I get it. I’ll have that problem too - once I decide on what tonneau cover to get.

Unfortunately the bed lights are not tied to the exterior lighting at all. I think it's quite annoying but you do need to physically press the button in the cab. You should have the button because it's not a bed light button specifically but the cargo light button.

I unlock my truck, it turns on the cargo lights, which turns on the bed lights. I open a door, turns on the cargo lights, which turns on the bed lights. or I can use the cargo light switch, or the zone lighting on the infotainment

Very interesting, my 25' Lariat w/ factory bed lights only turns on the rear cargo light in the CHMSL with doors or unlock, not the bed lights. It only turns on the bed light when the button is pressed.

Looking at the owner's manual it should operate like your truck: Exterior Lamps - Switching the Cargo Lamps On

Maybe something for service? Have you seen a setting that controls this?
