Before I hit dealership, does anyone know if the engine oil pan bolts can be tightened/gasket, or is one of those remove, clean RTV only bits?

I just did my second drain and fill after my first oil filter change and noticed oil dripping off of each of the oil pan bolts.

First oil change was early with the addition of Baxter spin on and an oil/air separator, and upr drain motor craft oil, no leaks or issues. First drain and fill with Valvoline restore and protect, no leaks or issues. Second drain and fill Valvoline Restore and Protect, big oil drops on each pan bolt, lots in skid plate and steering rack.

no oil on topside, at filter, at drain plug

could it be like all the other bolts that are only finger tight?

Get down and check them to make sure they arent loose. That going to be the only way to verify

Hopefully you have a good dealer that doesn't give you grief about warranty because of your aftermarket parts.

Dealer provided some die for me to pour in, so when I do eventually get in, they can get right to work locating where from. Will carry an extra quart oil until they can get me in.

truck running 100%, just a pain that there’s a leak. Fingers crossed not rear main seal.

I fookin’ hate dealing with RTV. If there’s a gasket you can buy when you replace the oil pan, I’d pay good money for that.

Hopefully the dealer will just handle under warranty.

The dealer sorted it out by replacing pretty much every gasket and bolt to get to the front cover. Leaking at 1 and 9 front cover bolts. I suspect, like others, they simply weren’t torqued correctly. I’m told they are done in two stages all bolts at once. Probably like some of the other hand tightened bits folks have reported.

Overall super satisfied with the service at my local dealer. They went above and beyond what I was expecting.

I guess the UAW boys in Ohio were late for their break.
