Phone as a Key (Ranger Raptor) PAAK?

I've watched a few Ranger Raptor reviews this morning, and twice now I have heard someone mention “I believe ford is also offering a phone as a key option on these” but they don't seem too confident in that statement.

From what I understand, Ford has Phone as a Key options only on their EVs. Does anyone know if that will be an option on the Ranger Raptor?

But it won't replace they keyfob? Typically when you have Phone as a Key, it replaces the physical keyfob and allows you to just use your phone and you can do push button start by having your phone on you instead of the keyfob. Like most modern EVs have.

Not a dealbreaker at all, just after hearing them mention it, it sounded like it would be a great option.

What you are describing is the app functionality, not the Phone As A Key function…

Can anyone confirm that the Ranger Raptor can be driven without a key fob once the Phone As A Key and the FordPass App are set up properly?
After a looooong wait, I’m picking mine up on Friday!

There is no Phone as Key for NA Rangers. You can use the FordPass app to start the truck, but the vehicle will prompt you to push the start button when you get in, and you need your key fob.

• Lightning (2021 +)
• Optional on Lariat low 510A
• Standard on Lariat high 511A & Platinum 710A

I think it's only a matter of time before we get it on select Ranger trims. I have to believe the technology is already there.

I was thinking about this yesterday. It's 2024. Key fobs are 3X thicker than phones now. Why havent we improved on this?

Is this the kind of thing that might be unlocked with Forescan? I’ve never used Forscan before and most of the Forscan modifications I've seen mentioned in these forums don’t really seem worth it, but something like this would be a game changer.

The technology exists, but Ford didn't include it on my Raptor. On my wife's BMW X5, I can unlock and start the vehicle with either my iPhone or Apple Watch. I wish the Ranger was the same.
