Anyone try a set of these on their Ranger Raptor yet? If so, how are they on the road? Yeah, I know there are a few vids out there but hoping to get the perspective from a RR owner coming from the KO3. Would love to see Tire Rack test those 2 plus the Falcon Wildpeak A/T4W directly. I contacted them and they said there should be a review on them coming out soon. Thoughts?

They offers sharper steering and stability than the BFGoodrich KO3, though it rides slightly firmer and louder.

I'm curious if he ran stock pressures? My guess is he did and the Pirelli is an E rated tire and the BFG is a C. So the ride stiffness makes sense. I bet with lower pressures it would help. I run my KO3's at 35 cold. Helps a ton.

Exactly why I asked if anyone here has run them. Seen the videos. But my guess is they didn't hear the KO3's with several thousand miles. (Mine are getting LOUD at 6K) And yeah, 35psi sure smooths them out big time!

That would be an interesting test. Have you ever seen a long term tire test for NVH? I will switch to these as soon as I am done with the KO3's. Seems like a no brainer.

If I had the spare cash right now, I'd jump all over them. Alas, I must wait until my KO3's are used up to justify the XTM's, but they WILL be my next tire.

XTM's wet performance rivals an on-road all season, they are very good on road. Off-road traction is identical to the KO3's with just slightly better at the limits grip on packed dirt. So basically, the XTM's are either at parity or superior by leaps and bounds over the KO3's, you're not giving up anything to get better performance aside from slightly firmer ride.

Outright grip in dirt is about the same, but the XTM's are more precise and easier to access their limits, which is an improvement over the KO3's. Their brake away characteristics are also more predictable, so you can push harder without stepping over the edge, they are easier to recover from slides as well. So, for off-road, not massively better than the KO3's, but more refined is how I would put it.

On-road, particularly wet grip, rivals on-road all seasons. There's not a single off-road AT tire that came even close to the XTM's in the wet on-road, which is where most people have issues with the KO3's. Snow performance is also superior to the KO3's and as good and in some instances better than Nokian Outpost, which is known for snow performance. Win there too.

Also note that some of the initial reviews comparing the just the XTM's to the KO3's said that the XTM's aren't so much "firmer" as they are different in how the road impacts translate. The XTM's are more of a one and done, like a performance car tire, they don't "oscillate" or reverberate like the KO3's do. So, the road impacts are maybe a bit more defined, but not necessarily harsher if that makes sense.

I noticed the KO3's feel a bit "bouncy" at times and a bit unsettled on moderately rough pavement with lots of small imperfections. Also note that the load C vs. load E thing is very misleading. There's a tire reviewer out there who cut apart C and E load MT's and the carcass was the SAME! He did an in-depth study on the topic and found out some interesting things about load ratings.

Since the C load tire actually met the E load requirements, BFG just has the same tire with different load markings for different regions. So, the C load isn't "softer" than the E load for that particular tire. That's not applicable to every tire, there are some where the E load does have a thicker sidewall, but some that don't, so it's tire brand and design dependent as to whether the C and E loads are actually different....confusing right?

So don't let the E load rating be something that necessary is what decides it for you, rather look at the whole picture and how the reviews define the actual ride vs. the mindset of "well it's E load, so it's a no for me no matter what".

I forget the guy that does the reviews, but some dude that looks like your typical country guy in flannel shirts up in say Colorado or the mid-west area. He, runs a Taco with Method Bead grips and does a lot of off-road tire reviews, but for the life of me, can't recall his youtube channel.

How about a comparison on how a tire picks up rocks? The K03's seem to pick up rocks more easy than any tire I can remember. I hate the sound a rock makes when it gets slung up to the running boards or fenders.

I know they say they are coming, but they need more sizes available beyond a 285/70R17
