Do you think adding an aftermarket intercooler is going to help the stock or ford performance tune? I have my doubts. I think this is mainly for a standalone ECU.

not on a ranger raptor, but on my son's 2014 focus st, an aftermarket intercooler helped out in daily driving and when he raced it at the local autocross. it allowed the intake to have cooler air temps quicker instead of being hot after some high rpm / power runs

The truck doesn't know what intercooler is mounted - it does know what the temp of the air that's feeding the cylinders. That leads me to believe a more capable intercooler will make more power.

Yeah that is a good point , the mechanism would be increasing timing based on air temp, of that is done in this tune. Maybe I'll call the FP guys and ask a few questions
the question is: how much better is this intercooler compared to stock? I'm thinking 10 degrees but not much more?

@1146.75 US plus shipping from the UK, hard pass. Most well designed and constructed FMIC’s will see 20-30 degrees reduction in temps from stock, due to much larger air volume.

This equates in a cooler, denser, air charge, which produces additional power and reduced engine heat soak. ??
