Within the last month, I purchased a 2024 Ranger. I’ve put on a Truxedo cover. It helps, but it definitely does not keep all the water out. Not bad though. All that said, I’ve been looking at possibly adding this Ford mat to the bed. I dont have a spray in liner. Im a bit worried about moisture getting under the mat and causing rust. I’ve never put a mat in before, but like the idea of reducing cargo shifting. Can you let me know your experiences with mats and rust? With a tonneau cover, it doesn’t seem like it should be a big issue, but just curious. How often should you take it out and clean/air things out? Thanks.

Everyone always says rust but i have owned many trucks (with those plastic bed liners thay are supposed to be worse then anything) and i live a half mile from the ocean and i have had the paint rubbed off all the 2ay around the bed liner at the rails but never under any liner or mat so i dont see how you would get rust under this eith a tonneau cover

The last truck i took a liner off was an 01 frontier. It came from virginia and had been here in corpus christi for 5 years when i bought it, back in 2018. I took that liner off and the bed was spotless wxcept the edges where the rails hung over and rubbed it down to the metal. No rust, just down to the metal because the liner would shift each time you drove and sand the rust off, i geuss.

Pics attached. BTW, grabbed my calipers … it’s 0.27” thick.

0.27" - that's a far cry from 0.75" thickness, as advertised. Presumably the caliper measurement was from one of the raised lips on the edge and not including a cleat, right? Even if it did not include a cleat, there's no way the cleat is ~0.48".

Agree, took the measurement on the edge, at the thickest part of the mat, not within the "indented" ribs. Quality appears super solid, the mat weighs a ton.

On the front page of Ford Accessories site they list a monthly discount code. I think I bought my mat this month (March), so the code I used is probably still active. 15% off.
