Does anyone know if they port fake exhaust noise through speakers on the "baby" Raptor like on the adult F-150 Raptor?
Yes, I found out the hard way. I just had a new stereo put in and when I drove off, it sounded like I was diving straight pipes! What clued me in was when the rpms got to peak before shifting, the speakers crackled. I pulled over and pulled the 2 rca jacks out of the amps and the engine sound was back to basically quiet mode even in sport or baja. So, yes it is an added sound feature. ESM i believe it's called (electronic sound module) or something similar

However, there is actually a sound difference outside the vehicle, after more research, there is an active exhaust. I had that as well in my old Mitz VR-4

Can anyone confirm whether or not the faux exhaust noise exists in non Raptor Rangers (XLT)? About to install a subwoofer and hoping this doesn't open another can of worms.

Ive never used Forscan in my life, but I bought a tool and did some research on this topic in advance of installing a subwoofer this weekend. Seems like there is definitely enhanced engine noise (ESE) in some or all trims of Ranger, but it can be turned off in Forscan. What I've gathered is outlined below. Not sure if my XLT has this feature enabled, but I wanted to get ahead of this potential issue in case it comes up.

Access audio controle module (ACM)
Setting address 727-01-01
Unclear to me whether there is a toggle on-off or whether you need to enter a code here
Code xxxx-xxx-0xxx (1 is on, 0 is off)

Cant confirm whether this is correct and it probably doesn't make total sense, given my complete lack of experience on the topic, but maybe its a start.

If anyone has done this and can clarify the process in total newbie terms, I'd appreciate it.

Would you mind translating this for someone who is a first time Forscan user? I think ANC means noise cancelling, is that the same as the enhanced engine noise or can you leave the ANC on with enhanced engine noise off?

So, in summary, we are still not clear if the Ranger has an inside noise generator? For all we know, the forescan settings above could very well be for the exterior exhaust noise modes..?

Im going to install the sub this weekend on a non Raptor which will tell if it has engine noise and will report back. From everything I've read, it seems all trims have it enabled from the factory though.

Setting 0 (zero) where the * is will disable all 3 mics for the Active Noise Control.

Pretty clear it has, just read through the prior posts.

Other threads said it was the digit before the * for enhanced engine noise. Could it be the * is a digit for noise cancelling and the digit before is for enhanced engine noise? Wish there was a definitive answer here before I homebrew a mess.
