Started working on sealing up the bed area. Getting the bed rail cap off was NOT fun... Only broke one clip.

Like Hysol EA9309? That would make for a pretty stout bed rail cap. It's used to repair Chinook rotor blades.

While my days as a 47D mtp are over, but I do recall replacing blades due to strikes. Some could be repaired in the unit, others were sent to CCAD for depot repairs. Nearly as many snapped landing gear from desert landings.

How cool is that! I went through that 714 fielding at Campbell. Pretty impressive over the 712's.

yeah, i was really impressed by the 714. double the hp and a lighter engine.

the 47 can really pick some stuff up now, ha ha ha. you could bend the airframe before but now its probably very easy to do.

when we were converting from the 712 to the 714, i was one of the three mechanics who engineering picked to help test tooling and equipment. honeywell wasn't really helpful to the army with that engine and wouldn't give us access to the tech manuals, dmwrs, or tooling so we had to do it all on our own. it took 2 or 3 years to get that stuff set up enough that engineering signed off on overhauls and testing.
