Hello,

I'm sure many of you are aware that the steps that ford felt were addiquite to equip to a baja 1000 winning performance truck are not.
The option that I found was rocky road, and I purchased them and they day before they showed up, another forum member pointed out that they bolt to the cab.

Rocky road claims its pleanty strong and they make "the strongest in the market". Well thats true since they are the only ones in the us market.

So I thought to my self if its strong enough, the Aussies have to be doing it that way. Well they aren't, makes sense that you would want them attached to the frame, but any way.

The aussies with the 600hp raptor run these.

I got a quote for about 1500 usd. with an estimation of about 5 weeks to my door.

Now, I wish I would have done this before ordering my rocky roads, because i cant get the austrilian ones in time for my trip. So im going to have to run them and hope for the best.

US$1500 to your door? I don’t think so. The International shipping cost for heavy steel sliders on a long pallet is going to be insanely high.

It would definitely be a lot lower if you could pick it up at the dock in Tacoma … but most buyers do not have that option, what exactly was their quote?

On the plus side, no 10% WA Sales Tax.

So far thats the problem with the new Ranger in the US. All the aftermarket parts are on the overseas market.

The Aussies have a bunch of aftermarket options for the Rangers already. Unfortunately, almost none are available in the US yet, or if they can be shipped it will take a long time and potentially be cost prohibitive. Hopefully more options will come to US shores soon.

They sent me the quote, in USD. DM me your email and ill send it to you and they quoted me 4 weeks, 2 weeks to build 2-3 weeks shipping as long as customs isnt dumb.

Man I thought one of the quotes was 1500 usd to my door but I was incorrect. And rocky road sent me the wrong sliders so everything is going swell.

I mean at least ford blessed us with bump stops, unlike the terd no.

Follow up on this? I’m in the market for rock rails, are the PPD ones sturdy enough to support the truck? Otherwise Rocky Road is all I can find that isn’t just a tube step

my photo is the first image. The rest is from somebody else that got the same rock rail is from GOAT fabrication. They’re amazing. I would recommend these to anybody that’s looking for something a little more sleek..

Not attempting to burst anyone’s bubble here but; Aren’t real rock sliders consistent with frame mounted, instead of chassis mounted?

Seems that if you bounce them off a rock, mounted to the chassis, you’re going to have a problem bending the chassis, which is not what you’d want to do?
