Not attempting to burst anyone’s bubble here but; Aren’t real rock sliders consistent with frame mounted, instead of chassis mounted?

Seems that if you bounce them off a rock, mounted to the chassis, you’re going to have a problem bending the chassis, which is not what you’d want to do?🇺🇸
Now you are making me second guess myself. I haven’t put mine on yet because my truck is getting some other work done in it. But, I swear they guy from the company said that the holes match up to the OEM holes of the existing step.

I had to go look it up. It states it mounts to the factory locations. Not sure what that picture is showing. I grabbed it from the internet to show what they look like on the rig.

Factory locations are on the chassis, not the frame……this is why I questioned them as being real rock sliders. That I’m aware of, real rock sliders mount to the frame, not the chassis as I understand.

if you hit or bounce them off a rock, they‘re intended to bend, not the frame or chassis.🇺🇸

That's correct. Real rock sliders mount to the frame because the frame is the strongest part of the vehicle. Not the chassis. Like it says from the webiste, from the picture above, it's only good as a side step and preventing rock chips... So these are just side steps that look like rock sliders. I wouldn't slame on these onto a rock or use it to pivet off of boulder rock. Just get real ones from Hot Metal Fab.

We are definitely lacking frame mounted options in the states. Guessing it is to blame on the market for full size trucks, Tacomas, and Toyota SUVs probably being significantly larger than our current small population of < 1 year old Rangers.

I messaged Ironman 4x4 earlier this year since they have/had sliders hoping they'd make them available in the US, but there was no ETA. I never reached out to ARB regarding their sliders.

Haven't been a huge fan of some of their skidplate designs and mounting decisions for various Toyotas/Lexus, but RCI said they had Ranger Raptor scans completed and would be making sliders. That was early/mid summer, and still nothing yet.

I found these and exchanged some messages with the company. I couldn't get them to send me pics of just the sliders to make sure they mount with U shaped brackets around the frame like we see on most of the Aussie made sliders. They reassured me they are "chassis mounted" with M6 and M8 bolts when I asked if they are frame mounted. I think there is some translation/communication breakdown as they're an Argentinian based company. The price is definitely right and I have seen some good reviews on their bumpers in the Toyota world, but I am not going to be the guinea pig when I can't get simple pics out of them. https://rhino4x4.us/products/ford-ranger-raptor-2023-rock-slider
