Honestly, my plan already is to trade my current 2018 Focus ST in on my new Ranger being built and then trade the Ranger in on a Tacoma when they are released later next year....I'll have the Ranger for a year tops
so... what is Plan B?

So, saw this in an OLD thread and thought I would raise it as a question. Has anyone checked to confirm that there are NOT heating ducts under the seats in the Ranger?
at the car show a few weeks ago I looked under the driver seat of the Lariat and saw air ducts down there. Now as people are actually receiving their trucks now, we hopefully can get some first hand tests of whether the ducts heat only, cool, or what they do vs the known missing vents on the rear of the center console.

I would imagine there is an online/pdf manual that should solve the mistery until someone that’s taken delivery can verify

I did find this, but it is unclear if this means it will block vents that are under the seats or if it means it will block air flow from the front of the cabin, under the seats, and to the rear....

Good thought though.

I had incorrectly assumed the dual zone hvac upgrade on the XLT high package meant rear vent.s Was the only reason I purchased that package. , but it turned out to just mean driver/passenger zones and not front/rear.

Yes I want the kids to have vents as long roads trips will be taken in this vehicle. Not having it as a kid sucked. Yes I survived but it wasn't fun.

My gut feeling tells me NO A/C to the rear seats

"That truck doesn't have rear what?"
Okay, so I can CONFIRM there ARE vents under the seats to direct HVAC to the rear. Just got back from the dealership looking at the 2024 they just got in. I stuck my grubby little fingers in the vents. They are there. Seems like it is the ones from the prior posted pics. I tried to take a picture of them.

They're thinking only the younger generations think having a key is a negative. The more tech and gadgets you add means more cost, problems, recalls, and complaining about it in forums, for no discernible benefits for many of us. Ever hear of the K.I.S.S. principal?
I always hate that acronym. It is a good philosophy. But saying/calling stupid at the end is retarded <- lol

it's actually a spring-loaded mechanical switch that makes momentary electrical contact to engage starter circuit and releases. The only car I've ever owned with a push button start is my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. In addition to the switch you have to have your key fob with good battery in close proximity to be recognized. The batteries in fob last no more than 2 years max. Also, there's an emergency mechanical key contained in the key fob in case the electric start switch fails. Mine has been intermittent on stopping the engine unless you press it exactly right for a couple years now. Jeep only has 65k original miles with impeccable maintenance over its lifetime.

Both our experiences are probably outliers on the Bell curve, but I'd estimate there are still 10,000 times more mechanical keyed vehicles produced and many still in existence to draw comparison data from for reliability purposes of the concept.
