No what?
I’m not arguing the ROW didn’t get console hvac vents. Nor am I saying the NA version shouldn’t have them as i agree it’s a disappointment.
I’m just saying that some are posting the rear cab has no hvac vents at all. I’m just saying I don’t think that’s accurate. I’m sure they’re under the seats.
No, I don't expect floor vents. The cubby hole is all ready in the middle console that is air registers on the other mkt rangers. I think ford decided to cost cut and eliminated the rear air on us mkt. Rangers. But at least we get a power rear slider and fold flat rear seat.

oh. Well. I guess we’ll see but i kind of doubt it. Anyone at the media Ranger School Leah under the seats?

Bronco has ā€œair ductsā€ under the front seats, but they don’t do anything. And it seems like it would cost more to engineer under-seat ducts (which are formed from sheet metal in the Bronco) than to simply install the same console ducts that already exist in ROW trucks… šŸ¤”

Having no rear vents is only part of the issue. The other part, is that gaping hole in the rear center console just looks bad and cheap. As stated before, for a 60k car, that is unacceptable really.

It's not like adults will ever be riding in those atrocious rear seats, and kids don't complain about A/C like adults, so it's really a non issue. I've been in the back of every midsize truck currently on the market and as far as I'm concerned the second row is only good for holding groceries and items. Not inhabitable for humans.

I honestly would rather have fake vent trim pieces or no cubby at all. It literally serves no purpose. You wouldn't even be able to put anything in there without it just falling out immediately. Maybe I can just order the vent from Ford Australia part store, and glue it on lol.

They're thinking only the younger generations think having a key is a negative. The more tech and gadgets you add means more cost, problems, recalls, and complaining about it in forums, for no discernible benefits for many of us. Ever hear of the K.I.S.S. principal?
The only time in my life I've had ignition issues was with a standard key. The mechanism broke and wouldn't allow me to turn the key after it was inserted. A button is more simple because it's just an electrical current.

I'm wondering if there is venting all the way up to that piece and they just capped it off with the cubby piece. I've seen companies do things like that before. If we ordered the AU vents and popped them on, would they connect to a capped off existing vent and work?

it's actually a spring-loaded mechanical switch that makes momentary electrical contact to engage starter circuit and releases. The only car I've ever owned with a push button start is my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. In addition to the switch you have to have your key fob with good battery in close proximity to be recognized. The batteries in fob last no more than 2 years max. Also, there's an emergency mechanical key contained in the key fob in case the electric start switch fails. Mine has been intermittent on stopping the engine unless you press it exactly right for a couple years now. Jeep only has 65k original miles with impeccable maintenance over its lifetime.

Both our experiences are probably outliers on the Bell curve, but I'd estimate there are still 10,000 times more mechanical keyed vehicles produced and many still in existence to draw comparison data from for reliability purposes of the concept.

I’m hoping we can just buy the rear vents and parts of the console and make connect the vents with some hosing to under seat vents. It would be really cool if a US Ford dealer made a bundle or package for it, like Levittown Ford.

Maybe it's as easy as using a Dremel to cut out the back of that cubby for air to flow.

In my experience I’d have to disagree with you here. The batteries for key fobs in the several sizes offered normally range for $7-$15 for a pair. Be that as it may, I’ve seen several keys last longer than 2 years on the original battery. The convenience of a push start system really outweighs the benefits of a key. Plus the battery replacement for keys has been getting increasingly easier over the past few years compared to what they used to be.

that's fine for some. I see NO convenience to it at all over keyed ignition (+ doors, tailgate, glovebox locks). And again, did you see what Toyota and others did with removing key features from the key fob function, then holding even existing owners hostage to a Subscription service to get them back? I'm not going to give them that gateway to manipulate and increase my ownership costs if I can avoid it. YMMV.
