Reverse brake assist not available

Just started getting this message on my new Raptor... there are loads of such posts affecting the F150 model. I have tried the drive at speed and all doors etc are closed. DTC code and info is attached...

It means the Radar on the rear does not work...

Any help appreciated..

This code comes up for me when my cameras are not spotless. It doesn't stay though and starts working after a clean.

Would said Ford rep be able to help me with an update? Our local Ford is sadly quite incompetent and takes lots of down time to accomplish anything.

I have 2 issues:

1. I cannot access my car over FordPass app. I have an account, I've added my car, but it says I have to request access even though I've done all reset procedures multiple times. Still the same.

2. My local Ford claims I cannot get a software update. I know there is a software update for the car but it keeps saying system up to date. I do not have control of my zone lighting, the menu has the older style icons and some settings are greyed out in the system settings.

Hi everyone I am in France and I have the same problem with the rear active braking system but it is not only the problem that the rear radars often do not detect small poles and often also problems in the corners which does not detect from time to time the same with the front camera it works when it wants to park I don't think the problem is normal as soon as it rains it gets a little dirty and it no longer works it's not normal, even cleaning it doesn't work every time either

Glad the reverse assist is sorted…. I fed back the good news to my local master tech too. Sorry to hear of the other issue with the 12" panel. Hope it’s sorted soon…. By the way If you don't have bonnet struts those ones I fitted are great.

hello my friends I also have the same problem as you maybe worse because often the reversing radars do not work or work poorly on your raptor did they change the 360 module?? I have an appointment at Ford I would like to try to give them a solution to resolve the problem

Sharing my experience with the “Reverse Brake Assist Unavailable” issue on my brand new Ranger Raptor. First experienced this after the vehicle got muddy. Cleaned cameras but message never went away. Drive for 30 min and it disappeared until the vehicle was turned off and back on, at which point it was back.
Booked in with local Ford dealer and went in on 11th Sep 23 for diagnostics, got a call a week later to say that upon trying to reprogram a module they had experienced multiple new issues and warnings. Further investigation lead them to order a new BCM which never fixed the issues. Another technician has diagnosed the issues as being a faulty steering angle control module. Have been told today 2nd Jan 24 that the module is on back order with and estimation of 6-8 weeks from order but Ford are not accepting orders for the module due to internal investigation into that module. No idea what the hell is going on and not sure the technicians do either. Raised it with Ford customer service today so hopefully get some update soon but not holding my breath. Frustrated is an understatement. Nearly 4 months already and just been told don’t expect it anytime soon.

Will update once I get more info.

thank you for your answer I hope that in France we don't have any supply problems I must be one of the rare ones to have this problem I wash them this morning but it's always the same and I notice that the detectors in the corners don't work no, it's a shame that things like this are missed

Except that the front and rear radars do not detect small posts

Sorry for late reply, and yes recalibration was required but this wasn’t straight forward and they had to do it more than once. However, it’s been perfect since. Hope your issue is sorted soon.

hello Joules I have an appointment at the end of the month I hope they can recalibrate the radars themselves? I also have a problem with closing and opening the windows with the remote control. I always have a window that doesn't want to go up. It's like the ambient lighting. It often deprograms itself. I have to put it back on when I go. in the menu!!! finally lots of ridiculous little bugs my good I like when they all work my biggest problem remains these parking radars

You can make a easy calibration of the rear Camera with forscan / forscan Lite.
This is a Service Function in the App.

Hi everyone after visiting the engineer and different tests we noticed that there is indeed a configuration problem on the radars except those who cannot enter the settings for the moment the information must go back to the design office for which may have a fix afterwards either there will just be an update or an intervention by Ford I think it will take a few months before it is resolved so for new Raptor owners do tests with your parking radars center you on a small front and rear posts
