I feel like we are in the golden age of bed accessories right now. Much better options than when I got my '19 Tacoma. I ride mountain bikes, and when I ride alone, or drive alone to meet friends I just throw my bike over the tailgate with a half pad. But I need a tonneau for luggage/gear storage, and above rack storage for traveling with snowboards. Enter the Bak Revolver X4TS, and Rhino Rack crossbars. The bars work via the T-slots in the tonneau, and the bars have a semi-quick release, so I can easily remove and store them, and the feet stay in the rails. I can also use this for group rides requiring a shuttle by using the hitch rack for 2 or 3 bikes, and 2 more over the bed with roof racks. I'm so stoked on this solution.

Congrats. Looks very nice. Classy and versitale.

I’m curious. What’s the cost difference between your setup of a tonneau cover, rails, and Thule container, compared to a color matched fiberglass topper?

Thanks! The tonneau and bars were around $2K for both. That box is 15 years old, but I guess if new it would be another $800ish. I didn't really consider a topper, as I use a half tailgate pad for my mountain bike when I'm riding alone, or driving alone to meet with friends, and I think it would be cumbersome to try to feed a bike through the topper to hang over the tailgate.

Nice setup ! I have the RetraxPro XR with the t-slots and was wondering if my thule box would fit on the Ranger.

I've not seen my box for years (at a friend's) but I think it's a 74" length.

Could you share the exact model number or the length of your box on the picture ? Seems close to 6'

Mine is the 604 Ascent 1600. Length is listed at 76".

Nice setup. How's the roll with the low-pro bars? Clear the rear ok but assume it gets too thick for the front bar?

With the quick releases, maybe only a minor inconvenience if you need it rolled back.. not sure if the XT4S is flexible enough to fold back on itself.

I just realized the canister on the Retrax is a disadvantage most of the time but for crossbar its an advantage...

It won't clear either with the current position of the bars. That's why the quick release bars were crucial for me. They're off the truck more than they are on, and when I need to roll up the Tonneau it's usually because I'm throwing my bike in the bed using the tailgate pad, which I obviously couldn't do with the bars on anyway.

I like it. I had a very similar setup on my GMC Canyon w/ the X4ts, but using Yakima crossbars. Essentially the same price, so now I have a decision to make on which one to get.
