Coming from my 19 Ranger, with a Trifecta 2 (tri fold) cover. Which had a nice bulkhead extension? riser? anyways, it filled the gap between either side of the bed which allowed for the rear seal to sit nicely. it still had the ugly overlap at the tailgate on either side.

Fast Forward, picked up the Rough Country soft roll up:
Soft Roll Up Bed Cover

Material seems pretty decent, parts were all there and installed easily.

BULKHEAD: no filler or riser included. The back of the cover has a 'D' shaped weather stripping that is attached on one end of the D and is a flap on the other end. Its job is to extend OVER the bulkhead towards the cab. If you don't line the cover up just right it'll be wide open.

The rear of the cover at the tailgate, the seal doesnt even touch the middle sadly. I will have to get a good weather strip to at least fill this gap in. Just be aware if you choose to purchase this. I am opting to keep it and just upgrade it myself.

This also goes along with the terrible customer service I just went through. I contacted support to see what they had to say and if there were any solutions. They asked if I wanted weatherstripping, then said they can send a new one because it may be defective (doesn't appear so at all) or I can just return it. All before trying to solve the problem. I wanted to keep it and use it, just looking for a solution you know?

Like I said, it seems of good quality, closing the cover is a bit stiff since its brand new and should soften with time.

**I'll add some full bed shots later!

I have the same cover. The clips rattle against the rear window, but it serves the purpose for the price.

Do you have the fitment issue I have? Have you tried to additional weatherstripping?

My tyger soft roll has the same overhang on the tailgate but it came with all kinds of extra weather strip for filling the openings at front and rear. Luckily, the tailgate butted up eprfectly against the weather stripping that comes in already.

Looking back, I went with RC over the Tyger thinking I'd be happier.

I believe it doesn’t fit right because it’s a cheap universal fit design. That’s how they keep the cost low. One design fits all 5 ft beds. The Ranger bed has so many openings there’s no chance of keeping it dry anyways.

I mean how bad was customer service really? they offered you a full return, a full replacement or weather stripping....sounds pretty good to me.

It's $200. Not sure what you were expecting, but it seems customer service treated you just fine. It's hard to troubleshoot stuff like this over the phone.

Yep, you're right in what they were offering; I was already aware of their return policy, so one of their 'solutions' weren't really offering anything outside of their own standard.

I get it, its a cheap top, and I know they aren't 100% waterproof, just looking to see if they had others with the issue and a solution. I didn't call to complain and be a nuisance. Wasn't looking for a freebie or a handout. I even mentioned I am going to keep the top and make it work, especially for the price.

I think it was a fair review for MY experience. Again, YMMV.

I can say, the top has settled a bit, while the gap is still present, its much better. Adding an additional stripping inside the 'D' shaped flap will fill the gap across the tailgate. Also, adding some additional stripping to the bulkhead will cleanup and fill that area as well.

Even the more expensive Truxedo I had on my '21 didn't seal well on the tailgate. But any water that did seep in, just ran down the gate and out through the gap at the bottom. On the 6G, it harder to seal on the rails due to the 'stake pockets'.

Yep, I have been following those threads on sealing things up. I dont have a need for full waterproofing, just trying to mitigate a little. On my 19, my Trifecta top was the same, bad seal at the tailgate.

I like the way that looks, but its not for me. Thank you though!
