Mine crapped out somewhere after 3000 miles. It's been restarted at least 2 dozen times stopping at overlooks and trail heads, and still hasn't reset itself. Not only that, it's once again switched from My View to whatever the default is called, and now the seatbelt page doesn't auto turn off after driving a bit. OTA is turned off, so don't think that caused it.

Honestly, the fact the truck doesn't remember the last driver settings is really a huge miss from Ford. I shouldn't need a special button to put it in quiet mode every start up, or change the steering to comfort, turn AS/S off, etc. Now I'm hitting buttons for what feels like a minute to go back to how I like it every time I hop out for 5 minutes to take in overlooks. F'ing bad form, Ford.

I did install a start stop eliminator, as well as found a hack or trick to program it to stay in quiet all the time.

Using the center stack display you can access a function setting called quiet start, It lets you set time periods to stay quiet, so I set mine to stay quiet between 12am and 11pm. So basically only 1 hour in the middle of the night when it’s very unlikely I will be driving it , will it default back to normal exhaust.

I swore I had setup my guages and displays a few weeks ago, but for whatever reason had to set them all up again today.

I don't think the software is fully cooked. Too many glitches, and having to disconnect the battery to reset things isn't a solution. Not a good showing considering my Focus was a Job 1, Ford owned car and has barely given me any issues in 12 years and 227k miles.

This just happened to me at 1500 miles. Has anyone heard of a proper fix for this yet?

Fwiw..... you can reboot the R button with removing the top ground wire w/10 mm, leaving it off for 15 seconds or so. I'm gonna just get a 10mm nutdriver and throw it in the glove box.

Just my best educated guess here.
I am thinking.

Unless you can get into a dealer pretty much immediately, the R button starts working again on its own after day or so or few restarts.

If the dealer is like most dealers, they will try and schedule you in to check into it several days out and by then it will likely be back to normal and it will be one of those issues they can't duplicate nor fix.

Has anyone reported this issue to a dealer service department or had the dealer check into it.

Mine stopped working yesterday at ~4,600 miles. I’m waiting to see if it fixes it self.
Annoying as I do use it every time I start the truck.

Nothing a dealer is going to be able to do. It’s not a physical switch issue it’s a software issue. Unhooking the battery just reboots the system fixing the issue temporarily. We’ll have to wait for Ford to give a shit and patch the buggy software.

This happened to me at only 470 total miles. I had several restarts since and it has not fixed itself. In the same driving session/day I encountered an issue where the dash displayed that adaptive cruise braking was disabled, while driving manually down a 25mph street.

Will see if it returns over the next couple days/starts otherwise I'll try the battery leads reset. I was using the R button daily as well.

Mine came back the next day.

Exactly this.

Happened to me a couple weeks ago when I left the house to run to dinner. Truck was sitting around 6400 miles. I ran through some deep water on the way, whether it was related or not, who knows, just an observation.

When I got home I unplugged the battery for a few seconds and hooked it back up and R mode worked again. So I also started carrying a 10mm rachet wrench in the glove box.

Does that mean yours has stopped working more then once?

I was curious if this was going to be a one and done glitch for everyone, or if it would be a repetitive issue.

I honestly don't use my R button near as often now as I did when I first got my truck, ever since I added my start stop eliminator and figured out how to program the truck to stay in quiet exhaust mode all the time.

About the only thing now not automatically in the mode I like best, is the steering and I have pretty much gotten uses to the steering in normal model now.

Still curious about following the progression of this common issue though.

Only once...so far. But for as common as the 10mm nut is on any vehicle, it's always worth carrying a 10mm socket or wrench in your truck.

No idea what would cause this glitch. I'd hit 6000 miles without it but watched it knowing it could happen. I hit the R button after every start.

The fancier the gadgets get on these vehicles, the more you rely on tech support rather than a mechanic.
