Drove a 1995 F150 to 360,000 miles and a 1999 B4000 to 250,000 with 'rusted drive shaft'. But this is Louisiana where they don't use road salt in 5 days of winter we have.

Ford drive shafts rust. My Lariat gets its spray-in, undercoating, and rust proofing tomorrow.
Can you share your experience and appreciation of the work done?

What exactly do you got for?

Just got my 25 Raptor coated before salty winter in Montreal and it's my first experience.

The whole car is black underneath, even my front bashing plate is now black. Around doors and hood and tailgate there is kind of a yellow wax around at risk spots...

It freaking stinks....it's been a week now my wife doesn't want to drive it anymore...

I am betting the materials used in Canada and northern US states are likely a different material.
Do they recommend you re-treat it annually or is it a one and done material.

I believe what we get here in Kansas is more or less bedliner material spayed on the frame and flat surfaces from the firewall back, nothing sprayed on moving parts. That was how they explained it to me. We are using the same shop here in KS to under coat our trucks. I think they are the only shop in town that does them here.

I imagine there is all sorts of shops offering all sorts of coatings up in Canada.

Don't think so but not sure. Not a lot of places undercoat. That's why I use Line-X Wichita, now called Truck Works ICT.
Saw your truck today, looking sharp !
Just saw it driving by ICT this morning, it's only a block or two down the street from my office.

Curious if you were happy with the undercoating?

The product is Phoenix, from San Antonio. They have a web site and the chemical composition of the product is available elsewhere. The truck underbody is black now but not moving parts or drive shaft or spare etc. It is sticky to the touch so I did not mess with it and will take a week to cure. Rain is not an issue but no carwashes or power sprayers. There is a smell but from my experience it will fade away...eventually. The rust proofing was put into crannies but I can't see any color to it. The spray-in bed liner has the premium UV coating so some sheen and will be fully cured overnight in the garage and ready for the Weathertech bedliner to go on top. I will take some pictures later. Since the vehicle is just over 150 miles, lifetime warranty. Total was $1400.00 US and took 8 hours to do the entire application. From what I can tell, it looks and feels like Line-X in the bed and the undercoat and rustproof look the same. It was professionally installed and looks it.

Thanks. I like the Ranger a lot. Undercoat Looks same as LINE-X product. Smells the same! From what I could tell, everything that should be coated was and what should not wasn't. Did not know Washington was torn up at Central but got around it. The guys at ICT said you would be in next week. I had mentioned we correspond on the forum and were getting a topper. Which ARE are you getting?

Yea Washing and K15 has been a mess for a while now.
Really looking forward to them finally getting done. I drive it every day.

I was curious if they got any overspray on your shocks. Mine having the live valve fox raptor shocks, I am really hoping they don't mess them up. Having both Rangers done next week.

My topper is a body color matched white A.R.E Evolve.

Looks great !
They do a careful job. Undercoating will take a week to cure, then the Borla exhaust goes on at Truck Stuff. They got it yesterday.

Here’s a drive shaft with some lanolin on it. It gets a nice patina

I figure if it clumps up it will throw it off.

Axles and dif stuff always an issue with American and most vehicles made in USA-Honda. Best to hit underside and any frame holes with fluid film or blaster shied. I live in area of crazy tidal flooding. No issues aside brakes when submerged. If you want pretty, hit with some ospho, degrease, steel wool, degrease, then hit with blaster shield, paint, or easier any spray ceramic wax. The off-road jeep guys here spray entire undercarriage with spray/rinse ceramic coating in the vacuum area of car wash before hitting the touch free wash. Other days thise bastard are mud covered and making a mess and hitting the spray booth before… seems to just spray off though.
