Two questions regarding the seat heaters.

Per the manual seat heater will come on when restarting if one when you turned off.

1. Is there a way in Forescan to default seat heater to off during next restart?
2. Is there a way to set passenger seat heater to also start during remote start, whether by key fob or App?

1. No way I'm aware of. Mine does this if I restart within a short time, but not a long time. Like overnight they won't come on automatically. Not an issue for me.

2. Not that I've found

I also had mine set to come on with remote start if temp warrants it. That's nice, but it defaults to the highest setting. Don't much like that, but I deal with it as I like warm buns and hands immediately when it's cold out.

Would be nice to have a few more granular options for the heated seats/steering wheel and HVAC (I'd like heat out of the DASH, FORD)

Yes, Ford should add more buttons to the app. They have added seat and steering wheel but it’s just an on/off.

Not sure what you are seeing, but when I remote start my 2025 XLT from the app - I see a temp control, defroster on/off, and the three setting heated seat button. This didn’t appear right away after I was seeing folks say it appeared in their app. You do need to have the app updated in order to receive this option.

OP - from what I can gather on your post it sounds like you want the seat heater to not turn back on after it was on when you turned the truck off right? So when you start it back up it doesn’t turn it back on? I’m a little at a loss for what to tell you other than just turn your seat heater off before you turn off the truck. When you remote start with your key and the temp is low enough outside, it will turn on unless you change the setting in your truck. In your Ford app, if it’s updated like I said above you should be able to turn it off from there.
As far as the passenger seat, I don’t have experience with forscan so I can’t say for certain, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn that on in remote starting with the tools available for me.

Actually, i was taking a lot for granted because you're right. Temp control, defroster, heated streering wheel (my F150 doesn't have that option so I guess I'm carrying a grudge I don't know about), and the heated seats. For the seats, I had never pressed the button more than once to select the level and now I see that I can.

So in summary, I was complaining broadly about one specific problem... and I was even wrong about that problem. Learn something new every day... thanks for setting me straight! :like:

I never turn my heated seats off.

I turned my my heated steering wheel on the other day and it might not go off until summer.

i can’t imagine how I would be in someplace where it is cold. 😃

The biggest reason for wanting to have heat off when starting is for the passenger seat. I don't always have a passenger. When they are out and I restart the truck I don't want to turn off the seat every time(I believe it's better to not have them on constantly). If they are always off when starting the truck I can have the option of turning on or leave off.

dude, it gets cold in cali. i grew up in the riverside / corona area and a few times when the army has sent me to san diego with some people for training, i always tell them to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket and no one ever believes me. then the first night in old town they are all buying something warm.

i remember waiting for the bus in the morning with a big jacket on and getting off the bus after school with a huge backpack stuffed full of jacket. this has never been an issue here in texas though.

we just sweat 24 hours a day till mid january where it becomes cold and hot swapping back and forth till spring break and then its back to sweating 24 hours a day.

man i hate humidity. i miss california weather
