I've pretty much beat it with a Banks set to +6 in City, with tip in desensazation at 3 of 5. In Eco it's about what a normal pedal response would be and in Normal it's very aggresive. The stock pedal mapping and engine response is the worst I've ever had in any vehicle I've ever owned. Pure sht. The Banks and the adjustments make it 90% better. WTF is wrong with Ford I do not know.
In fairness to Ford, I also have a 2.0L turbo Camaro that had poor initial throttle response. I added the Roar Pedal to it, which removed the lag. I don't go crazy on the throttle setting, favoring a mid-level approach. That's my "Goldilocks" setting. Just right.

Because of the success I had with the Camaro, I bought a Roar Pedal for my Ranger. Same result. Best $170 I have spent.

It falls on it' face every time off the throttle w/o the banks. Also experienced where it does nothing for seconds and you have the pedal to the floor. This one is better than my '20 was in that, but still sometimes it happens. Ford is setting itself up for a lawsuit when the truck can't get out of the way. Pedal and engine response needs to be predictable AND REPEATABLE 100% OF THE TIME. It can't be- I wonder what's gonna happen this time? Banks has cleared this mostly by overwhelming the throttle response, and getting rid of the lag on top of that. Ford - This is really crappy!!!.

I do not disagree. This goes beyond Ford. I do feel the root of the issue is transmission calibration. Between the skip shift from 1st to 3rd, slow downshifts and a torque converter clutch that is slow to unlock all contribute to the conditions we are feeling.

The throttle controllers on the market are a bandaid at this point. From what I've been reading about the Procal tunes, the transmission shifts are vastly improved. Ford really should offer a revised calibration under warranty, but I suspect the current version is set up for fuel economy.

For anyone who has installed the tune, has it improved shift quality and throttle response?

Agreed, about the transmission calibration. If you switch to "Sport" mode the lag/throttle response goes away.

Throttle is too aggressively mapped and trans holds the gears too long. I just want a normal driving Truck that also responses when i hit the gas, No games. Ford should be ashamed.

I don't feel this on my 25 2.3 (yet, only 200 miles) but I am still taking it easy for break in. Is it possible the new turbo reduced the lag? And mine doesnt skip 2nd on the way up in Normal but it does on the way down.

Likely the new motor addressed these issues, builds torque faster and better down low. Banks makes mine driveable not too bad, but throttle can be a guessing game.
