When I first got my truck it would always skip 2nd gear when in normal drive mode. I read that this is normal. I started using Sport mode for a while but I don't always remember to put it into Sport mode. Now I noticed it doesn't skip 2nd anymore in normal mode, I wonder if this is an adaptation?

Mine skips 2nd also. It just depends on the load or throttle position. It doesn't always skip it.

I wonder if Forscan can set the default drive mode to Sport? It's my favorite mode.

Nope, tried to do it already. It always start in normal, even if you turn normal off in forscan.

If you drive with a light enough foot on the gas pedal , the 10R60's can skip 2nd and sometimes 4th gear when driving. Mine has never skipped a gear, my foot is probably weights more than yours!

Zero skips for me, driven in normal mode since purchase in Jun, 8K mi. now and no issues of any kind except the two recalls.

mine only skips 2nd gear when it's super cold out like it was this morning. after a few mins and things warm up, it will go from 1-2-3-etc after that. but the first 5 mins, it will go 1-3-4-etc.

Mine hasn't ever done the skip with either a warm or cold trans. I keep the gears visible on the cluster when I drive. 🤷‍♂️

Anybody know if there's a way to keep the gears visible on the dash automatically? I just tap the gear shifter each time I start driving to get it to show up, but would be nice if it would be there all the time.

There isnt. I tried a bunch using forscan and couldnt get them to be on full time without hitting the shift +.

I, too, think they should be visible anytime the truck is on
