Have you ever had occasion to get y dash apart. I need to get access to the plugs behind the infotainment screen.. looking for a video on how to do it.
I have t tackled that yet but let me do a bit of research. I have seen people taking the gauge cluster out of the dash bit not the infotainment screen yet.

Glad you found it. I always feel awkward posting my videos here because I don’t want people to think I’m just looking for views. I honesty just want to help out where I can but people take it different sometimes and I don’t want to cause a scene :) cheers!
Did you pull the solid panel and put a bit of deadener on the outside?

Interesting that you didn't cut the holes out. Made that look easy!

Yeah, it was a calculated decision haha. I didn’t even think to pull the blank out and put sound deadening material on it. Dang, that would have been smart

What's the noise floor in your Raptor now? I got <49dB at idle, in drive, with the exhaust in quiet mode this afternoon. Ripped to about 80dB at WOT, and around 58dB at 55mph. This was with my phone's mic though, so I need to get a real meter.

Down to 43 at idle but tire noise is killing it up at freeway speeds

Isn't it kind of pointless to do this? The cabin vents are what let all the sound in regardless....
I added sound deadening behind the back seat BUT, I didn’t remove the seat, seat belts or carpet. I just pulled the felt bulkhead cover back and added two layers where I could which was most of the area. So my project was not as comprehensive as what a lot of other folks have done (under the seat etc.) but I was in and out in a couple hours. I did notice an improvement (I think) but nowhere near what deadening the four doors provided. I’m glad I didn’t buy sound material for the back bulkhead but rather used left over material from the doors project. So I was only out my time.

What I wish I had the guts to do is the roof. I just can’t bring myself to try that project. At some point I may take my truck into a sound shop and get a quote for the roof work but I have other things on my list before that project.

in short, if you want a very noticeable improvement, do the doors. Not that hard and worth the time and money.

I did this to my 2021 Ranger. It didn't make any difference. Until I mostly covered up the vents... I know they're for air bad deployment. It made a HUGE difference in sound deadening.
