I was one of the first Rangers using the LVJ harness and talked to Keith on the phone about getting mine to do this but I didn't feel like messing with it anymore. Cool to see he's got it figured out and able to get it working. Looks really good!
I don’t remember exactly. I think at the time he didn’t have the wiring diagram for the Ranger and no one had tried to make the running lights work like the f150. Just using his regular basic harness the lights just work as brake lights which is what mine do. I would have to tap into something else which I didn’t feel like messing with.
There's nothing wrong with his harness, its just wires, mines an F150 Harness, its just how you wire it. If you have basic electrical knowledge, it's very easy to figure out.
Never said there was anything wrong with his harness. All his products are great. But if you wire the harness up on the Ranger the way the instructions tell you by just going into the BCM for the reverse light (my harness is the basic w/ reverse) the brake lights work just as brake lights and not running lights.
Not trying to throw shade, but I did this on my SCOUT II I added a different brake light to and was very simple and very cheap. But they're just pre-wiring a resistor / diode in line, with the LVJ you ground the harness, hook up the blue circuit wire to your parking/running light just like all the cool kids on here are wiring their raptor style grill lights, and you're good to go.
