I actually like the RR steps.

Have you attempted to rock crawl with them? I understand its not a rock crawler, but a dessert "race" truck should have actual sliders and they would be 2ish inches higher. IMHO the ranger would have beat the terd no if the steps weren't so low. I think I dented them on my way home from the dealer, freaking grocery getter steps. Still not as bad as ah the whole dont use your off road performance truck for off road performance until you pay us ON TOP OF THE HUGE MARK UP, to install a bracket, that may or may not be back ordered.

When I get my rocky roads ill measure the height over ground difference, and attempt the same route, its dryer now so not quite a fair test, with out the front locker.

Super glad I got my jbrackets before hitting this jump I found at 60ish mph, this truck is a freaking monster.

J brackets, yeah no excuse for that ford. But other than that, and I would say sliders, fuel tank size, armor, brakes I swear these are normal ranger brakes, not bashing a normal ranger but we have more horsetouqes. And I think it would be perfect the perfect truck. And once i get all those issues addressed, Ill probably look at putting in vented seats.

Jbraces aren't needed for off-road. They aren't even needed for high-speed desert running. They are only needed if you have a bunch of weight above the bed, like a roof-top tent or a shell AND you are doing "extreme" off-roading with it.

I agree that Ford should have included them, but it's not as dire as some people make it out to be.

Thanks for sharing the video. I typically don't watch to many YouTubes car reviews but this one was entertaining.

With out the steps some of us old guys would not be able to get in this truck. Why Ford in their infinite wisdom thought it was a good ideal to delete the grab handles that every other market gets is beyond me. The NA engineers and bean counters suck it way harder than it should be to get in this truck. Other than grab handles, rear vents and bad designed pickup bed this could have been the perfect truck maybe a little more power too. I love my Raptor but when the winter comes around I may have to sell it. Its really harder than it should be to get in this truck atleast for me. My F150 was never this bad and none of my other trucks I had are this bad for me to get in and I'am not short either 6'2. Please for the love of god Ford put the grab handles back in like all the F150's have and other market Rangers have.

The side steps are actually pretty damn durable and good enough for most people that doesn't rock crawl. I took my truck on 2 different trails that require some rock crawling and they held up and protected the body of the truck. I even got a chance to land the side step on a boulder rock and slide along with it. To my surprise it held up like I didn't land it on a boulder rock. But I am currently having Hot Metal Fab make me rock sliders with kick out.

😂😂 Agreed (and well put). It really is a huge fail. @Ford Motor Company . Almost unbelievable. Almost.

Agreed on grab handles and rear vents.

Without getting too greedy, I’d say they should also redesign the rear under seat storage compartment and throw in 60/40 rear folding bench

60/40 bench is so handy if you have a flat floor under it. As it's made though, I dunno. Those storage boxes take up most of the room under there.
