I thought the start-stop feature could be saved using the "R" button? I saw it in a video somewhere. I don't have my truck yet to confirm, but it said if you save the driving settings, including start-stop being off, it would get saved in R mode.

Can anyone confirm or bunk this?

Correct, but you still have to press the R button every time you start the truck to enter R mode, no different than pressing a button to turn off auto-start-stop every time lol

Okay, that's what I thought. I can handle pushing the R button. It'll literally be an inch away from my hand on the steering wheel. 😁

I keep wanting to get the ass disabler but i cant get myself to spend 100 bucks for one button worth of pushing.

I totally want to and would if it was cheaper but i can't make myself do it. I am still stuck in the early 90s prices when 100 bucks was half a week's paycheck

You might think this is funny, but the one thing that I’ve always hated about my RR (and the previous 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4 Sport) was the auto start/stop switch. I never use this feature, and have to remember to disable it every time I start the truck. I just picked up a bypass switch from 4dtech, and it works exactly as advertised.

https://www.4dtech.com/ranger-24-25-start-stop-eliminator/

The installation is super easy, as long as you don’t have size XXL hands, and if you do, you can solicit help removing the connection. My wife took about 10 seconds to remove it; I won’t tell you how long I had been trying or what that assistance is going to cost me..😉

Anyway, I’ll never have to worry about disabling the start/stop switch again.
Yep, I put one on my 2024 XLT Ranger. Don't understand WHY ford did that. Dose anyone know what the clicks are coming from my ranger it's like ever time I walk by my truck it's always clicking. Is it updating my truck is like a computer on wheels.

I got it but haven't installed it yet. Forgot I had it, then experienced my first auto start stop today and was reminded why I had purchased said item.

I'm curious when your truck was built? My XLT was built in October and I took delivery in November. I am having mucho issues getting the eliminator installed. I can't get the right angle connector from the module to release. Did you have a tab on the back of your connector? Mine doesn't seem to have the release tab.
I had to disconnect the module just to be able to push it up to where I could press the tab in. I had tried it when it was cold outside, but gave up due to the fact I was cutting my fingers up. All in all, I've had no problems on my 2024 XLT. NOW, I've got this clicking sound coming from the truck my key fob is in the house. They are random clicks. Dose anyone else have this issue. I think it's updating the system.

It's my understanding with the Electronic components in the new vehicles, if you have to disconnect your battery you have to get your computer reset/reprogramed. Not to sure about the new age of computer components. They seem to have a computer for every component on your vehicle, so much for doing your own work anymore. Adapt and overcome right.

Is this true? I have disconnected batteries from other vehicles many times without issue (although not my Ranger, many of the vehicles are much more sophisticated than a Ranger). Was planning to disconnect my battery from the Ranger to do some electrical work this weekend, and never even considered it being an issue. There wouldn't be any issue reconnecting it and starting the vehicle up would there? What do you mean when you say "reprogrammed"?

If the device was $20 I would have bought it.

I find myself automatically pushing the button to turn it off when I start the truck now.
